Re: I absolutely LOVE this Phone!

No beef here, just some fun with the Steeler Browns rivalry. My M.O. whether I really care or not is to just support my home teams where I live or have lived and then whatever others I may like. As far as the time goes, I'm a little wired from playing some late night tennis at the Rockefeller Park courts. Figures, the best public courts we have found are not in the burbs but right downtown Clevo.

Re: I absolutely LOVE this Phone!

I don't "own" the epic but I work for The Shack and have had a chance to play with it extensively. I love the Epic! Almost as much as I love the EVO! I have no sound issues with my EVO in video recording (thought I'd mention it) nor did I have video/sound problems with the Epic. I love the Epic's fluidness compared to HTC's Sense and of coarse I love the screen. The keyboard is a non issue for me as I use the O S keyboard on the Evo like a mofo. All in all it's samsungs best phone. I would get it but I have 5 lines and no more is available nor are any of them due for an upgrade just yet. The ONLY gripe I had with the Epic was the GPS. We set all the settings mentioned here and on xda for it to work correctly but it was off by a 1/2 mile at worst when it actually connected to a satellite...and we were in the parking lot. Otherwise, it's an amazing phone! I'm glad to see sprint getting some quality top rate phones for once!!

Re: I absolutely LOVE this Phone!

I'm a little dissapointed with the AMOLED screen. Dont get me wrong, the deep contrast is great, but the subpixels arent small enough to become indistinguishable(to me atleast).

Either way, I think I'm going to sit on my hands and wait around for the next phone. Hopefully one with a long life OLED display

Talk about being picky......the next phone that's good with OLED will probably have something that you nitpick on as well...Good luck with finding a phone that fit's your wants....I'd like to suggest an LG Rumor, I heard those where nice

Re: I absolutely LOVE this Phone!

yeah, I agree with nvmyc, by the time a (noticeably) better phone comes out my year will have went by and I'll be eligible for a new one! I'm still in my first week with this phone and I have some really extensive reading to do comparing it to the EVO, but I have a feeling I'll stick with this Epic..It's been a while since I sat down and things just worked on a phone! I mean, other than I had a hard time connecting it to my PC and I'm pretty sure I have that working now?

I just don't know how much better a phone could get ..for my needs at least? Like I said in my original post, I came from the HTC TP2 and spent hours upon hours trying different settings to finally get it to where it did what I wanted it to. It never did get the Navigation working well, so I use my Garmin...lol so even though the Epic's is a bit off, I really don't mind.

Anyway, by the time I'm up to speed on all the functions/specs this thing has I'll be nearing the 30 day window and I can then make up my mind 100%. All I can say now though is: I have never had a phone that worked like this! I'll have to play with the EVO a little more too. I already have a little, but I AM coming from WM and am just now getting a feel for Android.

Re: I absolutely LOVE this Phone!

I love the simple fact that I can use voice input while driving to do anything from searching for my next destination in navigation to writing out an entire text message with nothing but a tap on the mic and my voice

Heh...you must be young still. Once you hit 40, small pixels will drive you nuts.
