I was hving a similar issues as many of you with the email issue; but it may have been my own fault. I was doing a lot of setting adjusting and killing of random apps w/ the task killer that were associated w/ the stock mail client. Wondering if any of you are doing th same... the problem seems to have rectified itself, after I stopped shutting off "bakground data" in settings... it needs the running consistantly in order to maintain accuracy. Also being more care in what task I kill w/ my 3rd party task killer... some need to be leftrunning while many other I don't use I kill t save on ram and battery.

Re: Email not auto checking?

I think you're right, I recently changed AppBrain to auto kill every hour. What programs are associated with e-mail that I should leave un-touched, and what settings as well? I'd like to resolve this.

Well in task killer I just leave my default email client running, weather that be the stock email, or stock gmail, or some 3rd party app. And fo settings, if u go frome home screen>menu button>settings>accounts and sync you'll see an option for "background data" and auto sync. Leave background data checked on, and you device and email client should consistantly be able to check email in the "bacground" at all times... but just now the more frequent u have ur emails set to be sync, the more it may drain from battery (especially if is frequently checking for and downloading large quanties of mail from possible multiple accounts etc)
