WM 6.5 is Official.....Yet not available - Page 33

The two really are completely unrelated, doesnt have much to do with 'sense', not thta Sprint and sense always go in the same sentence anyway.

My TP2 was manufactured in AUGUST. Theres lots of lag time between manufacturing, assembling, flashing, packaging, consolidating, MONTHS on container ships and warehouses, customs clearance, unpacking and shipping smaller quantities to warehouses and distro centers and a lot of other steps before it trickles down to the consumer being able to walk into a store and buy an item.

Those people are completely separate from whomever develops and releases an upgrade for people who areleady have a previously-versioned handset, theres no reason to think they'd have timelines with any relation.

All this talk about "it's just marketing" and you can't expect the upgrade ROMs to be ready this soon after launch..... um.... what the hell was RTM for then?

I think the OP should change the title of the thread to stop falsely leading people into this pointless thread. WM 6.5 might be official, but not for the TP2.

Ive had the 6700. sammy i760. 6800, the TP and the TP2. not once did the carriers update coincide with Microsofts

why should i change the thread?? Just because we don't have it on our devices doesn't mean it isn't official. Anybody who has followed this thread knows what it's about. Now that it is official we play the wait game. Sprint really dropped the ball with this one. By not having a 6.5 device ready at launch. Yet AT&T and Verizon does, and they are their biggest competitors. Not a smart move at all. They focus all thier attention on the wrong devices.

the 2 are related. Basically there are a whole bunch of tp2 in a warehouse somewhere. as soon as the 6.5 update is available all they will do is plug up a couple of 100 phones at a time to a computer an then load the software on them. once they actually have that update and are loading them on to those phones, that same software update should be loaded to the htc website and be available for download.

If the TP2 comes out in stores with WM6.5 we wont need HardSPL or Sprint to release the update to get wm6.5 on our phones. We should be able to extract the official ROM and flash it.

you are right, but the majority of people on this site don't want the stock 6.5 anyways, I sure don't. One the stock 6.5 rom is going to be old but it is just better then 6.1, also it will have some much bloatware. Once we have the unlocker we can run update 6.5 roms and remove any bloatware to allow for a faster and better experience. If the unlocker came out as the same time as the official update, i would run my custom rom i already have waiting for me on my home computer and my work computer. I really don't care about the official update except to remove 6.1 and tf3d off of my device.

Sprint dropping the ball is not the first time. Took me 5 phone calls, 4 retention reps, 3 emails, 2 temper tantrums and a partridge in a pear tree to get my $150.00 "service credit" for the purchase of the device to "match the price."

Think Sprint is gearing up more for Hero when it comes out, if I'm not mistaken, sometime this month.

Sprint has been marching to a different drummer for a LONG, LONG time. I wouldn't be suprised that the official WM6.5 update drops late this month instead of sooner. Although it would be nice to get it before the unlocker gets done...*sigh*

Oh, BTW...this thread is good, nice place for speculations and rumors...without crowding the forum.

Well obviously everyone wants the unlocker. I was just saying that if TP2 is released with 6.5, even if sprint doesn't give us the update file, we would be bale to do it ourselves with the help of a person who purchased this new wm6.5 TP2
