WM 6.5 is Official.....Yet not available

Will the update mess with any of the hacks/tweaks that I've already put on the phone?

It will wipe out your device totally and install a brand new OS. Any data such as tweaks, contacts, etc will have to be realoaded.

WM 6.5 scares me a little bit because USB Modem and WMWifi works exceptionally well on WM 6.1. I am nervous these apps will fail on 6.5.

You can put me down as wanting stock 6.5 only (for now). The 6.1 stock rom on VZW is pretty solid and well done, so I would be surprised if the stock 6.5 isn't much more stable than the initial custom roms. For me the main reasons to go custom were tethering and GPS. That's a non-issue for the VZW TP2 with 6.1 and I would be surprised if the stock 6.5 rom changes that.

After waiting almost 6 months for the Touch Pro 2 to be released on Verizon (checking websites regularly, reading blogs, etc.), I think I don't have the energy to eagerly await or countdown to anything but the HardSPL.

Yeah I wasn't planning to flash my Touch Pro 2 and just go with 6.5 but after seeing the 2.5 Leo Manila in the Energy ROM I've decided to flash. I'm more focused on the hardspl like you said and the marketplace.

can't agree more. no more energy for waiting any else after been waiting for tp2 for half of a year.

beside, tp2 is working great out of the box, don't see any better values that wm 6.5 can offer. touchflo3D will hide WM anyway unless you don't like touchflo3D

wm 6.5 is just a desperate attempt that MS is trying to problong an on-life-support WM 6.1.
