jamesus: The request to keep the ROM from being distributed wasn't because anybody was annoyed with you (at least, not so far as I know). It's more that I think it would be better to keep things under control until we actually have something really good to hand out. Obviously, from what's been happening in the other thread, this first ROM build isn't working out too well.

Time to figure out what's going on....

well, for me, I spent a lot of time resolving the issues i took part in. That put a lot of other things down on the priority list, and those now have to be taken care of.

However there is a lot of hacking being attempted by myself and others to resolve/work on the bt/pan issues.

For the KITCHEN, that still is the one real outstanding issue.

Of course then, there is also the efforts regarding WM6, and the fact that IF HTC gives us a 3.x or even wm6 rom, we will have updated drivers etc that, until now, we have lacked, and driven a lot of the effort.

So, as we have a pretty nice working rom, that really only lacks one significant feature that I am aware of, yea some of the imperative has gone down.

However its still ongoing, and I do believe the people involved are just as commited. Remember that we all spent a lot of time there for a couple weeks to get us where we are, and thats not a BAD place, and so no a breather was, shall we say, well earned.

What isn't working out too well with the other? I thought the BT/PAN issue was the only thing unresolved? I have used that kitchen and not had one problem.

Glad to hear that it sounds like the project is rolling along quite well. If you guys are able to release a bug free working version with such a small QA test group, MS will be after you to see how you do it. I was skeptical at first, since I assumed that the more people looking for and reporting bugs was better. Obviously you have to be able to control ranting and off topic posts (or ignore them) to avoid hurt feelings like what happened before. It is rather disappointing to see how much the activity in the other forum has dropped off (hence Alwaysb's poll about burnout) since the project started, but we must have faith that the good work is continuing behind the scenes.

Thanks for all the hard work guys! Nice to see the project growing too. A PR guy now...what's next an HR person, health services, benefits, union, disaster recovery plan, business model, llc, incorporation, oSHA training, environmental standards, security officer, receptionist.......

How do I submit a time off request? Also, is there a difference between personal and sick days and do either count against vacation time?

Send all time off, health plan, salary, and promotion requests to corporate headquarters, where they'll all be, um, "filed" for review by management.

Corporate is currently reviewing the vacation and sick day plan. They say they'll have it finalized Feb 29. Failure to report for work until then will result in loss of pay.

---------------

time off? didn't you take a bathroom break earlier?

I completely agree with keeping the ROM within the confines of the project. The main point I was trying to achieve was to keep the general public informed as to the progress of the project. I have seen in many cases the ROM developer be hounded by the users in a downright nasty way and I was trying to alleviate the pressure from the developers!

As far as a PR person goes, not sure if that is a good title for me, but if the benefits and vacation is good, then who am I to argue!
