That being said lets all be patient as the demands were the only things starting to burn out developers in the first place. I personally am not burnt out, but i haven't been able to help much lately since my PPC is out of commission. It also looks like i won't get it back before i leave for 6 weeks this friday.

Don't worry the project is very much alive and as i've seen on another good free software product in response to "when will the next version be released?":
It will be released when it is ready
I agree. Patient is a virtue and will payoff in spades once the project is finished.

I don't suppose somebody would be able to state whether or not all of the changes that are desired for the first release candidate are ready or not in the release candidate thread? It would help a great deal to know whether or not we have everything we need for it.

And now something completely different...

I don't believe the developers are obliged to comment about anything. The idea behind the separate forum is to give the developers breathing room while they work their magic.

This is not easy work. It's very time-consuming, and it's a lot more difficult if you have people constantly bombarding you with questions.

The question is, do you want your questions answered or do you want a functional ROM kitchen?

Perhaps we need to assign someone to be the project "PR" person so the general forum membership will have information without interrupting the team.

What do you all think?

Custom roms ROCK! I don't post on this board because i think people who aren't part of putting them together and testing should leave you guys space to work.

I am still using the old method to modify some of these ROMs. Is there any way you people can make your initflashfiles.dat easier to modify by placing all the program links in one place such as:

I think a PR person would be a good idea, at least to inform everyone else what is going one. Simply post a topic in the Apache forum and then provide updates as they become available. Problem is that this topic was posted on the inside. I agree with you that the developers need their room to work, otherwise you will have what happened with verizionguy and colonel where they make these great ROMs and people will start demanding changes.

And wow...the post above me was huge! I think it might be worth about 1000 PPC cash!!!

I think just general project status is good. Things like, issues currently being worked, the build that's in QA and so on.

Just enough to let the general membership know that progress is being made.

Thanks for being so proactive!
