step by step instructions?

i know this is an old thread but im new at this and thot it was better than making a new one. i want to dl and run apps from my phone so i tried to dowload the resco and total commander to my phone and i cant do it. i go to the site and it tells me to download the cab file for my ppc. i do and i dont know what to save it to or how to open or run the program. i have know idea how to do this. please help guys and be nice. thank u

this is what i do. i save the cab to my storage card. then i goto file explorer on my phone locate the cab file i just downloaded and click on that cab file and install to my phone. ionce installed you should see it under progrAMS.

I have unlimited data plan so I just email zip, cab files to myself at work, lol. Download to my phone and install later.

it says its not a valid applicationwhen i click on it in the storage card. mayby if some1 can tell me the exact folder to dl i would appreciate it. thank u so much. or another program that is easier. thanks

Save cabs or zip files to your computer. Unzip zip files to your desktop or a folder. Connect your device to your pc via active sync. Click explore in your active sync window on your computer. It will show your phones dirctories/folders. Then you can drag and drop unzipped files or .cab files directly from your computers desktop to a folder of your choice in the active sync window. Open file explorer on your phone and navigate the folder you dropped the files into on your phone and click the exe or cab to run it. You may have to soft reset for certain progams. I would suggest some sort of backup program. I use PIM backup it works well. That way if you have to do a hard reset later you can easily restore contacts,texts, etc.
