Thanks.
1) You will have to buy the trial apps that are included in the tutorial *eventually*. I believe the trial works for 7 days on most of them.

2) No

3) This mod does not modify your browser at all

4) I'm a developer so my opinion *may* be a bit off-base, but it is actually very simple to install. You can always do a hard reset if you mess anything up

I've been experiencing some lock ups and general issues as well with this mod. It's not at all lazyboy's fault. He's done terrific with what's available. It just seems to definitely decrease the stability of the device. My biggest problems seem to be with opening the keyboard and changing the screen orientation. This is always sluggish and sometimes doesn't correct itself properly. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is yet. I've uninstalled the dialer which was already known to be buggy. My main reason for uninstalling it was because it did not have the "Smart Dialing" feature. I like being able to type the first few letters of the person I want to call on the Keypad and having their number come up. The iContact prog makes it easy to scroll through contacts but it's still too slow when you have hundreds on your phone. You'll be scrolling forever. This is by no means a rant, just my personal thoughts..

Has anyone else experienced these issues? I wish I could just prevent the Wisbar Desktop from changing when I opened the keyboard. I'm pretty sure that's what takes so long, and I never use the desktop from landscape mode anyway. I could care less if it stayed sideways. I tried selecting the same desktop theme for both landscape and portrait mode but it still switches and doesn't work.

Any ideas how we can make this more stable?

Thanks for the feedback.

The browser is really the most important thing to me, so is there anything out there like the iPhone's? Aside from Picsel Browser?

What do you think of Picsel Browser, anyway?

Thanks again for the help.

lazyboy0172,
Have you had memory problems with this? I've put a memory icon so i can quickly check what it is whenever my phone is not behaving normally and i usually find it to be running with about 6mb free on average...sometimes i can't start my camera etc cause it's so low. Other times my phone just goes blank and although i can see my notification lights working, the phone itself is unresponsive thus leading to a reboot. Was just wondering if you've come across this and if so how you handled it to free up space. I don't keep programs running and the memory is still very low. I know the mogul's low memory to begin with is no good but when it's running i assume it should stay running. I've had to reset quite a few times daily to make sure my calls still come through. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated...

I don't know if my issues were memory related, but after applying this mod my phone also became quite unstable. I've since removed the Slide2unlock program and the iPhone dialer and ever since it's been a lot more stable. I still think I'm going to remove most of the apps over the next few days though as I just don't feel like paying for the software required to make it work. It definitely slows down the device even with those few apps removed.

I can confirm that Slide2Unlock and certain dialers will make your device unstable. Before I tried any of the wisbar apps I tried slide2unlock and it ate around 4mb on my Mogul. I am now using this theme without slide2unlock, the dialer, or the keyboard. It seems ok but I have noticed lower memory but not really any slowness. I will test some more.

I forgot to mention I am not using the keyboard any longer either. I have instead installed a Keypad keyboard that makes it easy for me to respond to SMS messages when I only have one hand available. It's definitely stable -- I just wish I could find a way to have a similar (doesn't have to be identical) UI for the 6800 that didn't require commercial apps.
