I downloaded the zip file prior to my inquiry, but couldn't find it in the today settings or anywhere else.

I extracted it to my device from the zip file . Should this had been extracted to windows instead?

installed it looks cool. I edited it with Themegence to make the bars "shiny" but I can't make them black. they are a gray color. is it possible to do?

Don't modify the theme or you will get the grey bars. Just load the tsk to your device.
