Re: Please help me decide - tp2 or htc hero
My vote as a TP2 owner goes with the TP2. I could have waited for the Hero as we knew it was coming in October, but it was the TP2 that I've been watching for since mid July. And, I've not been disappointed. This is absolutely the best PDA I've owned, and I've had a pretty good list, which includeds the Treo 700p, Centro (still have), Treo 800w (still have), BlackBerry Curve (sold), Mogul (long gone returned), and the Treo 650 (work phone and returned for the Treo 750, which is a piece of junk). The Treo 800w I really liked, but the smaller screen and poor battery life makes it truly pale in comparison to the TP2. At least, IMO.

Re: Please help me decide - tp2 or htc hero
Don't forget the TP2 works with Rhapsody To Go whereas the Hero might not if that's a big deal for you. It is for me because my phone doubles as an MP3 player during workouts, car rides, etc. so I might stick with the TP2. Will the Hero also have 36 hour battery life? We shall see....
I was in the camp of definitely switching to Hero when I first got the TP2 but after a week of usage, I'm really considering keeping it. Even browsing on it is fast and pleasant! My only complaints are the usual Windows Mobile issues such as the unread text messaging problem and the general laggy nature of the OS but it might be remedied by ROMS and 6.5. Oh yeah, WinMo also works with Epocrates, whereas Android doesn't... |

Re: Please help me decide - tp2 or htc hero
Also thinking about TP2 vs Hero and I was set on getting the Hero just because of a change in platform and size and cool factor. From what I have seen the Hero has had some really good reviews and I feel that I can adapt to the on-screen keyboard (currently have the HTC 6800).
I was even in the Best Buy store ready to purchase the Hero, and walkng through the registration. Come to find out I was being forced to upgrade my Sprint family to more than double what I was paying now. I called Sprint and discovered that the TP2 does not require that I upgrade, so this may be the deal breaker for me. I really love the screen size and keyboard on the TP2, but am very interested in Android's future. However, there is really great support for Windows and even if the ship is sinking, it will take awhile. Plus I am trying to be optimistic with WMO 7...some day. So for me, it's going to be based on plan seems like. I really don't see how you could go wrong with either phone, both are very impressive.
