yea, it could be for speaker/ noise reduction for the mic, but that would be too smart.
anyway, what is that little thing where the flash should be? is that the spkr? or a spkr button?

The button below the camera is the mic mute button. The holes are (hopefully for cooling) otherwise not necessary. The TP2 has 2 speakers, neither pointed straight back (camera side). 1 on top (like original TP) and 2nd on side (opposite volume rocker buttons).

That button is the mute button for when you're in speakerphone mode.


Also, it's not venting holes!
It's the speaker phone speakers.

Directly to the left and right of the camera, yes... All the others, Pointless, But Meh, I guess we can always call them SpeedHoles! They make the phone go faster!

I agree that the holes are for audio purposes - if you look at the original version on the htc website it has a similar "grilling" grate!
