Re: Touch Pro Similar Replacement?

I suggest you take a look at the Treo Pro.
Although Turbo may have had a different experience than myself, I can state that as far as responsiveness and reliability of the device, the Treo Pro wins hands down over the Touch Pro even with the limited RAM.
I have a Touch Pro 2 Treo Pros. The Touch Pro is my all-day device, while the treo is my secondary. I love my Touch Pro, but really really like my Treo. Give it a shot, I think you'll like it.

I will take that into consideration... I've had enough problems with the TP to be OK with the flaws Turbo stated. It'd be an upgrade for my personal experiences. You guys are seriously awesome.

Added a thanks to everyone else who responded. =D

Also - Just saw someone at work with the same phone, and his has a "rainbow/oil slick/watermark" kind of thing under his screen too. Guess it happens to everyone no matter how much you try to avoid it.

Re: Touch Pro Similar Replacement?

I am not sure I understand... Why did you exhaust your TEP? If the problem is defects as you've explained why would you even go through Asurion? Seems silly to me to pay $50 or $100 when you have coverage for defects that won't trigger a deductable...

Re: Touch Pro Similar Replacement?

I'd agree with asurion... so many phones in so little time..seems like some kind of scam.. ofcourse if every 1 was having problems and having to take tp after tp back then HTC would recognize the problem and do a recall of the phone.. since it only seems to be a handfull of scammers I'd agree with asurion and say...hey no more for you.

I don't see too much how it could be considered a scam, seeing as I'm sending a phone back each time with the problem I describe. It's not like I say the keyboard isn't working and then send them back a water-filled phone. And if me scamming them costed me money every time I did it... well... I'm actually feeling pretty scammed myself because it's defects that aren't my fault that are costing ME money.

But I see where you're coming from. I can see why they might look at it that way. But I've even gone to a Sprint store and had to have a technician verify the problem existed over the phone to Asurion.

Maybe I'm too picky about my phone. Maybe I shouldn't worry about a rainbow effect/oil slick looking liquid under the very center of my screen when I touch it or a slide out keyboard that doesn't work.

Once again, if it was me dropping the phone, getting it wet, throwing it around, and then just calling Asurion for a new one... well, great. But problems I can't control are happening. I wouldn't waste time on a scam that wouldn't profit. I 'thanked' you for your opinion, though.

I'm assuming I'm just a victim of bad luck on this one, my friend. :/

Seems silly to me, too. Guess I was just misunderstood on what the process for those things were. No biggie, though. I'll deal with it and get a new phone soon if this new one messes up. Thanks.

No No you paid a lot of money for the phone so being picky isnt a bad thing.. I was just saying that I like Asurion and i'm sure many people here who haven't had any issue or maybe 1 issue got it replaced and all was fine seing some 1 who has had to get 9 or 10 touch pros replaced would have to assume some thing is off.. if you have to send em all back do you send every thing back as if it just came in the box or do you keep every thing and only send the hard body of the touch pro back? maybe extra batteries and stylus and 1gb sd cards and touch pro backs and the charger/usb cable makes money..now the $100 fee means no more profit? just asking and not implying thats what you do but if I were an Asurion rep thats where i'd focus on a scam if this was a scam.

You should only be going through Asurion directly if your phone is physically damaged. So water filled, smashed, or something else like that. Otherwise take it into the Sprint store or use Sprint's self service repair tool online.

You may have exhausted your insurance replacements, but that doesn't affect your repair replacement coverage. So you can still take it in store or use the online self service tool to do an exchange.

If you are having those problems you can do a zillion exchanges if you need to so they can know the problems are that wide spread...

Sadly if your story is true (I have no real reason to doubt you) it seems Asurion just made $300 + premiums off you which is sad.

When I had to use them they seemed to be pretty good. They sent me a broken mogul and after some tooth pulling they sent me a Touch Pro.

Re: Touch Pro Similar Replacement?

Well... just an update to this topic.

I took you guys' advice and called Asurion back because the new phone they sent me had the same pink coloring on the sticker. So I was like "WTF?" Why am I being charged for something they said is wrong my current phone, and the sticker on the new phone is the same color?

So they refunded my $100, reinstated my TEP, and said to send the new phone back. Then they said to take my old phone in to a store, (as you all said), and get the water slick corrected.

Thanks for all of your replies. I sent a 'thanks' to each of you. What a journey with this phone. /whew

At least now I can use the TEP in case I actually break, lose, or damage the phone one more time on my behalf. =)
