Re: iphone wtf?
It's all about the delivery system. People write apps for the iPhone because they know they can put it in the app store and people will be able to find it and buy it easily. WinMo needs something like that. Handango doesn't cut it. And OTA installs need to be as easy as it is on the iPhone. Even if we have a WinMo store, but the user has to download a .cab, then find where they saved it and launch it to install, it still won't be as convenient as the iPhone. WM7 should look at a SIMPLE way to do instant OTA installs.

Re: iphone wtf?
I for one would love to have an iphone if it weren't locked down for memory, battery, and had a real keyboard. Oh, and cheaper. (I had a longer list once upon a time but the 3G iphone seems to have addressed them)
Maybe what I'm saying is I really want a faster Touch Pro that is faster and has a larger glass screen. LOL Here's my take - iphonies tend to be less price sensitive to applications given the price they're already paying for the phone. They also tend not to want to know what's going on - give me the dish, not the recipe. Result? they buy apps like there's no tomorrow, and where there is demand, there will be supply. Single app store helps a lot too as others have pointed out. How many of us TP users are on SERO? I think WM users tend to be more tech savvy in general and likely also cheap. |

Re: iphone wtf?
As an iPod Touch owner, I can say you are not missing much. 2-3% of the apps are worth having, but the other billion or so are pure and utter s***.

Re: iphone wtf?
the coolest app I've seen for the iphone is called iRa. It allows you to view and control surveillance cameras. You can go from camera to camera, control the camera's movements with finger gestures, and take snapshots of what the camera sees.
It's also expensive as hell. Another website posted it would cost 500 bucks. http://www.lextechlabs.com/2008/07/1...-preview-video

Every time one of my friends wants to show me things their iphone can do, I think of the old living color song (with a few changes)....
Look at my iphone, what do you see? Cult of personality |

Re: iphone wtf?
I'm quite literally in another thread at AppleInsider trying to explain the irony of people complaining about Microsoft making bad products, then complaining that Microsoft is trying to improve their products and they are copying Apple.
Then I come over here lol. I really should start a forum and invite everyone from both sides. I'd love to see the flame war from that. |
