Yeah, they're ripping you off that bad.
wow
you need to search elsewhere considering there are so many TPs out for less than what you paid!
you got ripped
though I got a sprint TP and put it on vzw. Never looked back

That sounds far from a ripoff, he paid a really good price for an unlocked phone (which is what I'm assuming). Let's stop talking about switching to Sprint, for many of us that is not an option

Switching to Sprint just to get a cool phone is retarded. I put up with Sprints terrible service & rotten coverage for almost two years & hated every minute of it.

When I decided to try a TouchPro, switching back to Sprint never even crossed my mind. I bought a Sprint TP & activated it on my vz account & everything works super.

If I had warranty concerns, I would buy a vz TouchPro in an instant however. I could easily get used to the KB & the free memory is still double what my Titan has had for the last year (& that ran just fine as soon as I loaded nueROM3)

Re: Sprint Touch Pro or Verizon XV6850

I almost bought the Sprint version with the intention of activating it on VZW, but I've bought the Verizon version instead for the following reasons:

1. I'm not leaving VZW network. No way.
2. After ne2 and corp. discount I paid $269 for the VZW tp.
3. I want warranty and full insurance on this sucker.
4. While I will flash a rom to it and tweak it for speed and to free up some ram, I don't want to have to do a bunch of work just to get it working.
5. I am confident that the "crippled" phone will still meet all my needs once I have it tweaked to how I want it and with a clean rom.

Agreed completely, I would never switch over to Sprint, the network is worse and that is one of the most important aspects about these companies. I've been going back and forth between getting the Sprint and porting it over or just get the VZW version - I'm going for the VZW version right now for the sole reason as to have official support and not have to waste an hour or two of my day attempting to port it over (I would have fun doing that, but I'd much rather have the "real" thing if you know what I'm talking about)

Re: Sprint Touch Pro or Verizon XV6850

apparently people aren't having problems getting the ESN's from sprint phones added to vzw like many thought they would.. but the whole process of getting that phone on vzw networks is def less than convenient... yes you can get some 3rd party insurance with a sprint phone on vzw but what happens when your phone does get lost? I bet you're without a phone for 2-3x's longer than if you would have just gotten a vzw phone and dealt...

im up to 4c now

Re: Sprint Touch Pro or Verizon XV6850

Thanks for all of your opinions...I guess what I really need is to hear from people who have got the Sprint TP on "The Network" and people running a custom ROM on the XV6850.

Flashing the phone and getting things to work correctly is not an issue I'm concerned with I enjoy that kind of stuff and I've done it before with a Moto V3c from Verizon running Alltel firmware on Verizon's network...what a major pain that was...

I really want to know if there is noticeable performance increases and or limitations of either option. That way I can better weigh my options.

Thanks
