Re: Anyone have an iPhone or come from one?
Aren't you afraid of someone stealing it or something? I spoke with someone at best buy and she said they are the only ones who offer any kind of replacement plan, but it doesn't cover if the phone is lost or stolen. There is no warrenty that covers a lost or stolen iphone. If my touch pro is stolen, I pay 50 bucks to get a new one.
Also, hows the audio quality on the iphone? I heard ipods have good audio, but is there an equalizer like with the tp? Is there bluetooth for car stereos or do you absolutely need that cable? |

Anyway, it's a tad bit better than the TP, thankfully; at the end of a typical day I still have around 20% juice left. A typical day for me is about 1-2 hours surfing (unless I'm at home), 2-3 hours of calls, checking email occasionally (manually - no push), maybe snapping some pics if I'm out & about, etc. This is all with 3G turned ON. If you want to almost double your battery life on the iPhone, you can just turn off 3G (or enable it only when you need to surf fast) - or use wifi if you're at a hotspot (free at any Starbucks or AT&T location). Either way, I pushed it pretty hard in the first few days and the battery was fine. This was one of my biggest concerns about the iPhone, but I've been pleasantly surprised. Then again, I've always been in the habit of charging my cell phones at night - I've never had a smartphone that DIDN'T need that. Not a big deal to me - not like I'm using it while I'm asleep ;-) YMMV... |
Re: Anyone have an iPhone or come from one?
According to many, many posts on apple's forum, 2.2 destroyed battery life. Many are reverting to 2.1 until 2.3 comes out.
I still may buy it on Black Friday, if the price is 15% off as some speculate, or wait until Dec 28th when they are in WalMart and Sam's. I really like the aviation application, something that WM does not have. The screen is big enough to use in the cokkpit(had to spell it wrong to post) as well. http://www.foreflight.com/ |

2. Audio quality is as good as it gets. Remember, the iPhone is also a full-fledged iPod, and Apple doesn't skimp on quality. Many reviews have commented on the audio quality and how it's even been improved in the 3G models. That said, I was blown away at how good the Touch Pro sounded as well! 3. Yes, there's an EQ included in the iPod software. Actually, it contains a handful of presets that are likely to cover most needs, but you can also create your own in iTunes and they will then show up on your iPhone. You also have features like Soundcheck, crossfade, etc. 4. Unfortunately, iPhone does not support stereo bluetooth. However, if you're concerned about audio quality, you're much better off just plugging in directly (any type of audio-over-wireless will be a compromise). A much better solution is a decent car kit that provides a drop-in cradle which is hard-wired to your car stereo (and of course also provides charging)... Hope that helps! Jim |
Re: Anyone have an iPhone or come from one?
If U really need a stereo blutooth and can't live without it, There is a blutooth device out there for non blutooth devices. It plugs in any 3.5 mm jack

But seriously, thats garbage. I'm not saying the touch pro is better, but this dude should have shown videos and picture slideshows as well. That game runs about as good as I think it would on our tp to be honest :/ |

Oh yeah. U have a serious video driver problem with ur TP. ANd don't let envy kill U. |
Re: Anyone have an iPhone or come from one?
right now, using the iphone/touch pro as a gaming device is worthless... especially on a tv. but with either device, you're taking steps back in gaming. i guess it's alright for those who don't own any other systems or handhelds, but otherwise playing through the tv would happen maybe once - to record a youtube video...
my really young cousins might be impressed with something like that though. maybe in a few more years... |
