Disgusted by iPhone users reviewing the TP with bias on CNET

heh i like to show them slingbox and how the phone really does act like a computer with all the different apps we have to change the interface. Iphone users that have windows computers love the customizing of wm phones.

sprint has an iphone type: the instinct. but you can't add anything on it unless it's an sprint store app( just like the iphone and at&t store). the pro is very upgradable.

some people are happy with that though... the iPhone does what it does very well... in fact, if sprint got the iphone and i wanted another line.. i MIGHT get one - but it just doesn't fit most of us here at ppcgeeks
oh, and the instinct was a joke lol... but i guess if you think about it.. all these phones are nice considering what we had a few years ago. can't wait to see what's going to be out in a few more years.

yes indeed...phones are getting better and better all the time...I remember my very first cell phone in 2000...it was a samsung phone with a greenish blacklight that looked like a microwave and color phones wasn't even out yet then got the very first phone with a camera..the samsung phone that had an attachable camera (forgot model #) boy was that a waste of money...

--I could go on and on about some of the ungodlike things about this phone but i would probably burn out the internet.In the end i can watch all my cable tv unbuffered to my phone in the boonies, as long as i have a dial tone(no use for driving around looking for wifi....can you hear me now?) via my computer, tether it to a laptop or computer. Gps lock in four seconds.Basically my htc is totally awesome. Do you see how much homebrew is available for these phones?...what you can do with them? Like i said the iphone is a nice build but you have to weigh the issues and the hype.

I'm prolly late to the party here, but I have to chime in. You sir, are pretty much wrong on a lot of accounts.

Not to defend the iPhone here, I don't really like it myself, but I will give it credit where credit is due. First of all, WTF are you talking about with "full internet" on intel based architecture? And how is this different from the touch pro? Both are ARM devices, so your argument fails. Not even sure what point you want to make.

Next, you can jailbreak and run whatever you want without Apple controlling you. Yes its a crappy approach, but it does work.

You can change around icons on the home screen. You can use a song as a ringtone.

Not sure about it blocking hotmail, I don't see why/how it would though.

There is horizontal and vertical keyboard modes, just depends on the app.

If you jailbreak, appstore still works just fine. Data plan is just as unlimited as our Sprint data plans, now adays.

There is a lot of homebrew on the iPhone too, you just have to have half a brain and be unbiased about it. I would take the Touch Pro over the iPhone any day, but the iPhone isnt quite as bad as you make it out to be. You sound just like those reviewers on cnet saying TouchPro/Sprint don't have 3G in your post.

heres my take:

Everyone keeps bashing the iPhone..why? anyone in here who says the iPhone sucks is just plain smoking something. It has a huge high res screen(not vga but close enough), is crazy responsive, and does everything its designed to do damn near perfect. No, its not as customizable as WM, but they traded that for a cool UI that rarely freezes, is useful, and intuitive.

Think about it like this. WHat if Sprint had the exclusive rights to the iPhone, how many of u would be bashing then? All im saying the iPhone is an excellent device. Its doin so well for a reason. Even with AT&T's ridiculously lousy coverage and outrageous data/voice packages

Now, with that being said, any one who knows me here knows im a purebred, diehard, WM fanboy. I have used iPhones, I use the diamond myself, and mess with TP's all day, and all 3 are revolutionary devices. But i would NEVER go so far as to rate the TP a half a star, even with its issues, because its one of the best WM devices ever created

There is NO WAY IN H3LL CNET COULD GIVE THE TP A HALF OF A STAR OUT OF 5. Bonnie Cha, is actually that, a big effing Bonnie Cha. Lol, shes a moron. The TP has its bugs, as the diamond, and Iphone do, but they are all amazing. Yes, the Iphone has both beat when it comes to usability, but we all know our WM devices can wipe the floor with an iphone when it comes to raw capability.

I do think that CNET it a VERY biased unfair company when it comes to rating mainstream devices. Its almost sick its like Apple pays them to endorse it. lol.

Hell, i dont even know why people compare an iPhone to a windows mobile phone, thats not even comparing apples to apples.

ANyways, im done babbling, im getting mad about this nonsense. Which aint good 4 me. lol
