Re: 700wx Owner looking to upgrade to 800wx

I'm wondering how significant the signal strength is for battery life. While I've heard this does affect battery usage, i've not seen controlled test results that prove this. I do know that at my home/work I get solid but not great coverage. I was away for a weekend recently in an area that superb coverage - full bars just about every where I went. I was constantly on my phone, checking email, and surfing the internet, and my battery life was considerably better then at home. I'd had changed no settings, just used it more.

My speculation is that PDA phones are affected by reception more so than standard phones.

Like I've said, my Treo 800 has been on par with just about every WinMo phone I've had...no real complaints here. It was also similar to my BB Pearl. I don't know what everyone is doing that crushes their batteries...

Right, I mean I think it's expected that when there is less service available that battery would drain a little more rapidly. I think I may just get the 800w, I'll do a little more reading about it, and try it out for myself if I can access one, but overall, it seems like a pretty nice phone.
