they are saying you cant compare them because they both were geared towards 2 completely different crowds.. you should know that being a vet ppcgeek. the iphone is a media phone, not a smartphone, while the tp is a full fledged business/smart pocket pc. thats why you hear the "apples and oranges"... you can compare the phones literally, but ideally they were made for different purposes. even though the the iphone can be used for business and the tp can be used for media, those arent the phone's strong points, and it was intentional to be that way

I mean every phone that comes out is compared to the iphone whether its a Instinct or an Touch pro or a G1 its measured against the iphone they raised the bar on touch screen devices. Like homeboy said earlier there gonna be a new one that everybody's gonna be gunning for soon.

If it weren't for some of the functions on the iPhone, I'd say it's not a great phone. But, with that said, HTC solidified themselves as a very formidable opponent in the mobile indistury and look to see more from them for years to come.

apples touch interface really makes the TP's look dull and lame. by far apple has made the cake and got the icing on it too. and didnt just bring a couple cupcakes to the fray

You're asking this question in a fairly biased environment. I personally think that even the PPC-6600 was far superior, in many ways.

The fact that the Touch Pro is faster, better, and better looking is just icing on the cake.

Oh, and the camera is amazing (compared to any other PPC I have owned) -- and much better than the iPhone's "camera."

although, the iPhone really does have a better camera than the Vogue, so I can't dog on it too much.

I'll take TF3D/M3D over Apple's interface any day. TF3D and M3D have a lot of functionality and look good. Apple "gets it right" by keeping it very simple, I mean look at the total lack of any kind of customization. Think about the number of WM phones you see that have identical home screens/etc compared to the number of iphones that look identical.

Until HTC goes capacative on their screens and WM makes a major change to support it no device HTC makes will be quite the same in terms of responsivness and ease of use, not even the Touch HD. What good is a 3.8" screen if you have to flick 500 times to go down a user directory of say 1000 contacts?

The most powerful OS is WM bar none. No question about that. But every new smartphones that comes out will be tagged as the "Iphone Killer", "The Iphone busting Phone"(Nvidia Tegra platform), " The real Iphone killer"( Touch HD). It's sad guys but the device that will kill the Iphone is not been built yet. Not even a blueprint. Why? Come to think of it, the Iphone killer is not a Nice or powerful OS. Not a Phone that will out perform the iphone. it's not a device that has better specs. The Iphone killer is a phone that will stop Iphone dead in it's track by sales. Iphone has been the leader on the sales board the day it came out. Iphone 3G sells 6.9mil in 157 days. 1 out of 3 iphone buyers ditch their carrier. And half of those people that ditch their carrier is from verizon. LOL. How many middle aged women with 3 kids, wether chinese, japanese ,hispanics, blacks or white do U think will get the tegra?or the touch pro? I see alot lot of these woman have an Iphone. From age 13 to mid 50. I see them all. So now, Diamond, touch pro, Touch HD , G1 , and the tegra platform may outperform the Iphone. but none of this devices will match it's sales. the only way to kill the Iphone is to kill it's sales dramatically. So, the comparison really depends on what are U comparing.
