Any mogul to diamond users?

How is not having the keyboard? Did you get used to it and don't miss it? Will you be getting the touch pro and sending the diamond back?

Re: Any mogul to diamond users?

I went from Mogul to Diamond and I don't really miss the keyboard. I am not a huge texter but I do email enough to make the keyboard a well used piece of the phone. The Diamond is responsive enough so that the on-screen keyboard isn't too bad to use.

Re: Any mogul to diamond users?

I just took the plunge this morning, so I'll let you know next week when it arrives. Going into this, I have a feeling I will miss the keyboard, but I am willing to give it a shot, and see if the slimness of the device will be enough compensation for me!

Re: Any mogul to diamond users?

Here is my progression of PPC phones:

HTC 6700 - hardware keyboard, HTC 6800 (Titan) - hardware keyboard, Treo 700wx - hardware keyboard, HTC 6900 (Vogue) - software keyboard, HTC 6800 (Titan) - hardware keyboard, HTC 6900 (Vogue) - software keyboard, HTC 6950 (Diamond) - software keyboard

As you can see, I have bounced back and forth. However that was because I never really found a software based keyboard that I liked, that is until I got the Diamond. This keyboard is fast, responsive and accurate enough for me that I will not look back.

FYI... I send about 50-100 text messages a day and at least 25 emails per day, so I do use the keyboard. But for me, I do not miss a hardware version on the Diamond.

Re: Any mogul to diamond users?

Same here, I actually started using the diamond keyboard cab on my mogul about 3 months before I actually got the diamond. Towards the end of my mogul use, I almost never used the physical keyboard.

I thought I'd do the same and I have the diamond keyboard cab on my mogul. However sometimes it does weirdo things like it gets stuck only doing symbols, or stuck doing capital letters.. and using symbols was a pain sometimes. That could totally be a buggy can though. Also I found that it covered up much of the screen when you were trying to read what you typed. Does the diamond not have these issues with the SIP?

Absolutely not, the Diamond SIP does a far better job... and has never glitched on me as the old one did. And yeah, i used the Diamond QWERTY SIP on my touch for the last three months too... and that was my favorite keyboard. The actual Diamond QWERTY is far superior!

You are 100% right about the Diamond QWERTY sip. It is far superior to the Diamond SIP on Mogul.

I miss it. Typing responses is harder. I don't surf as much anymore.
