Re: Could the release of the Samsung Instinct cause a Cold war amoung users?

The instinct is heavily advertised because its a phone that needs a lot of attention. with the Iphone infested market, Lower level Phones like the instinct will not be noticed. The Diamond and touch pro does not need ads coz it's like a magnet. When U see the specs, People will just go and buy it. No need for so much ads. other phones must sell too. Not only the favorite phones or else Sprint will fall. Remember, Ads is the most powerful tool to sell ur product.

The funny thing is that htc is allready developing the replacement for the diamond/touch pro phones so when we hear about them we will be like gotta get me one of them babby.

Dude they can develop phone that has everything in it. but they won't. They need to sell phones. it's their business. If they give u a phone that has everything in it, The next time u buy a phone will be? Hmmmm. 5 years? 7 years? We will not upgrade for a long time coz our phone already has everything on it. Yah digg? LOL

Re: Could the release of the Samsung Instinct cause a Cold war amoung users?

I'm just waiting to see the "My instinct (insert problem/complaint)" posts at sprintusers.com once it's out. My experiences with Samsung phones, a920 (reboot randomly, lockup) My wife's Upstage (sticks on Sprint music, control pad a POS) are almost uniformly bad. I actually went to the Apache to get away from the 920, which was so buggy it was almost unusable. There will be good and bad ones if that history repeats itself and, isn't the instinct the "replacement" for the Upstage?

I use to have the a920 too. I use it to show off full lenght movies on a small screened phone. I remember one dude ask me a funny question. Is the movie as long as in the theater? LOL I said only the screen size shrink not the audi/video content. LOL again.

If Sprint is looking forward past the Titan, then I don't really see how that affects us. The phone still works, and there is still going to be a ton of community support for it (look at how the 6700 is still going strong).
EXACTLY!! It makes more sense to promote the newer, more advanced stuff, it'd be like sony promoting the ps2 a year into the xbox 360's life cycle, no one wants to hear about the older stuff. The Diamond and Touch Pro will get their fair share of promotion, not just by sprint, but by microsoft and HTC who are desperately out for some iphone blood, and then there's the nvdida Tegra phones, those will really get the publicity as their releases draw near!

I'm not so sure I'd call the instinct lower level than the iphone, since it has already been demoed to outperform it in every aspect. Though, if you're talking bout the amount of storage space included, having a microsd slot available set's any phone miles above the iphone-rather than be stuck with a fixed amount of internal storage, you can just expand to your heart's desire, there's already 8gb microsd's, soon to be 16gb, and 32gb. I think anyone who loads up on media would prefer a phone that let's them expand all they want.

Re: Could the release of the Samsung Instinct cause a Cold war amoung users?

IMO what it comes down to is Sprint sees the success of the iPhone and other media based phones and wants to pull as much weight with the Instinct as it can get. When Diamond and Touch Pro come out you'll see advertisements everywhere for them (tho I don't see very many tv commercials for the Instinct...only print ads go figure). Verizon released their Touch and it didn't make any noise at all. Every phone has its target audience....the Instinct and Diamond are geared towards those who are media hungry and the Touch Pro and Mogul are geared to those who are business oriented (even tho I used to use mine for music as well).

Bottom line...No Cold War...people who use HTC phones will more than likely stay with HTC phones.

It was outperform in speed of internet only. It is because instinct has rev.a and The Iphone used was the 1st Iphone w/o 3G the rest is just having tv etc. jailbroken Iphone's have all of those. C'mon man, Instinct versus Iphone? I don't understand where u coming from. Like I said in the other thread, when comparing phones, People or ads will look for the flaws of the other phone and exploit it. What about get their best features and compare it? haptic feedback accelerometer interfaces etc.

the thing about having onboard storage is that it is faster then transflash storage and also allows for more ringtones. I have a ton of ringtones on my phone, i also find watching vidoes to be out of sync when on the transflash but better when onboard storage. Also one advantage that no one is talking about is the support for visual voice mail the Instinct has according to samsungs website. http://samsunginstinct.com/?cid=ppc_...print+instinct
So if this phone has visual voice mail is this phone the new top dog or will other phones like our moguls and touches have it too.
