Question Apache Vs Titan

I have an Apache, but am on my 5th refurbished phone since January & this one is broken, too. The service rep admits that the refurbed phones generally suck & it's unlikely that any refurbed unit will be worth keeping.

Luckily, I have the $7/month Sprint insurance & these replacements are coming for free.

This last time I spoke with him, he promised to get me upgraded to an actual NEW phone! Woohoo! But... he managed to get an even better offer for me. I mentioned that I wasn't crazy about learning a new phone, so he's managed to get HTC to send a NEW Apache AND a new Titan. I'm to have whichever I want.

Bizarre, but I'm not complaining.

So... If there was ever a place to ask such a question, I suppose PPC Geeks is it.

What are the main differences between the two? I know the Sprint Titan comes with WM6, but I've had WM6 thanks to ppckitchen.org for months. I know the Titan doesn't have the antennea sticking out, but is that it?

Thoughts? Anyone else go from one to the other & have an opinion?

Thanks, y'all.

It's been a while since I had either one, but another enhancement is that the Mogul will give you Rev-A and GPS. I just liked getting rid of that antenna back when I had mine.

Unless you have a big investment in batteries/miniSD cards/cradles go with the Titan... The kitchen is out and is has the nice improvements mentioned above, plus is smaller...

Re: Apache Vs Titan

it's funny that they told you that about your refurb. I just had my 6700 replaced last week and the rep there told me, "oh yeah, refurbs are great. They go through a lot more testing than new phones, so generally we have less complaints about refurbs than we do about new phones."

perhaps everyone's experiences are different.

Well, I asked for a replacement of my original after a year & a half because I'd absolutely beaten the heck out of it.

The replacement white screened on me the day after I got it.

After a week of waiting for a 2nd replacement, I was given one that had a broken headset port.

Another wouldn't connect to the internet, the bluetooth didn't work, and it'd freeze whenever it got bored of tormenting me.

The 4th one seemed to work fine, except the directional pad was sticky. Then, it quit working all together.

This one worked fine for a while, but last week fired two batteries & wouldn't boot unless it was plugged into the wall.

Considering my personal experience & the sales guy's comments, I'd brace for impact if I were you.

Everyone else, thanks for the comments.

I currently own both a 6700 and 6800, i'd recommend the 6800

Meh with my role at a Sprint Affiliate network I see a lot of handsets... I'll just say this... a refurb is nothing like a new in box handset. *coughcoughtheyrepatheticqualitycoughcough*

Re: Apache Vs Titan

Refurbs break way more easily in my experience.

I just sold my Apache and bought a Mogul, and I gotta say, it's nice to have a phone that actually fits in your pocket.
