Re: What is actually better than HTC Mogul
I really like my Mogul but if all the specs about the 800w come to fruition the Mogul is going on the auction block. I really miss one-handed operation and the amount of RAM on a $500+ device is inexcusable.
As soon as the $99 Simply Everything plan came I switched in a heartbeat. Plus a carefully worded email to ecare got it down to $79. |

Re: What is actually better than HTC Mogul
HTC-6900! I miss my mogul, NOT! I upgraded simply because of the memory. I don't text much so I didn't really ever miss the keyboard. I keep a good supply of screen protectors and the Touch is simply awesome! Except for the RevA part....

Re: What is actually better than HTC Mogul
I have thought about this lots as HTC has been really crappy about communication......"early 1Q". I wonder if we can trust them with their other products because their stuff seems to have the best specs. The Mogul looked great when it first came out but then we discovered that some of the specs weren't there yet which disappointed us all.
I love the Mogul because it is so versatile. You can watch TV on it, type Office docs, text message, tether, interface with your PC easily, the list goes on. I think a lot of the annoying things are due to M$. C'mon guys you could at least have a good browser that will close and not stay in memory. As far as the hardware goes, Nokia has the most awesome specs but who wants the Symbian OS? argh... more like an appliance than a computer/phone. I love the fact that Nokia can offer a 5 MP camera. http://www.nokiausa.com/link?cid=PLAIN_TEXT_358159 I want a phone similar to the mogul that has much more ram and a lot better camera with a slightly bigger screen. Those new rollable screens are so sweet.....but still vaporware. http://www.polymervision.com/frameset.php?id=&page= http://images.google.com/images?sour...-8&sa=N&tab=wi I think that I will tweak out my mogul and wait on an Android phone. That would be fun to have Android on some nice big hardware. I am looking forward to many hours/days of tweaking just for fun. http://code.google.com/android/ Only BIG problem is.......Will the good hardware work on CDMA and will Sprint support it? Sprint has a great network and affordable plans. Are you guys following this? http://www.heise.de/english/newsticker/news/105363 All I can say is... Go Google! d Last edited by donnatn; 03-20-2008 at 11:30 PM. |

Re: What is actually better than HTC Mogul
I use my keyboard too much to go for the Touch. For me, the Mogul is the best phone out right now. It will come down to personal preference and what you use your phone for.

I am planning on waiting for and Android phone. Sprint has been in the Open Handset Alliance so Android should be available on some Sprint phones. http://newsreleases.sprint.com/phoen...oom&ID=1072575 When I emailed HTC, also in the Open Handset Alliance, they said they do not plan to implement Android on any existing devices. I heard rumors of the HTC Dream as the first Andriod phone. It is supposed to be somewhat similar to the Mogul. It is supposed to be released in late 2008 so time will tell. |

Re: What is actually better than HTC Mogul
+1 on the one handed operation with a treo
While it is illegal where I live, I had no problem driving a manual transmission and texting with one hand on my treo. With the Mogul, it's near impossible - the only way I can really do it is holding it sideways and sliding my thumb up and down the entire width of the keyboard. It's clunky at best. Other than the form factor and memory I don't see any advantages on the 800w specs vs the Mogul specs. Does anyone know what the resolution of the 800w is supposed to be? I've read 320x320 - and more screen estate is always a good thing. But 80 lines isn't enough to warrant the upgrade price to hop a single generation of product. I'll likely pass on the 800w and hold off for a device with a higher resolution screen and camera along with the inevitable memory and OS upgrade that the later device will include.
