yes, I know they are 2 megapixels. And I can guarantee you it won't be 90% in 2D. I would guess 90% in 3D. Since the phone can convert a 3D picture to 2D whenever you want, I would be surprised if anyone actually took 2D pictures most of the time. certainly not 90% of them.

most people use facebook to post pics..or places like imageshack..do they support 3d image format? and when you convert them to 2d..will it be 2mp or 3mp?

I am pretty sure most people don't limit their video chats to ONLY Sprint customers. And limited space as in a 4 inch screen. What good is a 2 megapixel camera for video chats if the other poerson only has a 4 inch wvga screen? Again, please tell me the advantage that this 2 megapixel front camera has. You have never seen a picture from the HTC, and gave the sammy a definite advantage based entirely on the extra megapixels that will never be used.

You do realize skype for example where most of video chatting is done is PC to PC..and Cell phone to PC is going to be like half the convos? not just cellphoen to cellphone..not to mention some people have tablets with higher resolutions too..

You are dead wrong. Like I said, if Samsung wants to do business in the USA, they have to follow USA rules. And don;t kid yourself, if the USA told Samsung "We are banning all of your products in this country." Samsung would be on the verge of going out of business. They do the lions share of their business here. And if they were banned, their competitors would pick up that market share. So as Samsung got weaker, their competitors would simultaneously get stronger.

Again, running out of inventory is not the same thing as using an illegal monopoly to gain an unfair advantage. If Samsung runs out of screens, thats fine. If Samsung tells HTC "We know you ordered a bunch of these chips and we agreed to provide them, but we decided to throw away the million Galaxy S 2 phones we made and use your order in our phones instead, so that way our phone is better than yours..." That is illegal. And if they did that, the WTO and ITC would be all over samsung.

The USA does not dictate, no. But the WTO and the ITC both DO dictate all over the world. You are totally wrong about this and I suggest you research it a bit before you comment any further. Samsung can be a monopoly in Korea all they want. But as soon as they start selling products outside of Korea they are bound to international laws and rules.

no thats not what happens..here is what happens..Samsung invents new technology..makes the chips (these chips ARE NOT FOR SALE) and uses them in their OWN devices..HTC and other OEMs CANNOT buy this component for a few months after..but it takes time to plan..hence they either use older components or order from someone else...either way samsung has an advantage by using unreleased components that no one else can get their hands on.

HTC didn't need to do that because they already had official support from Cyanogen anyway. I don't know if you are aware of this (probably are) but Cyanogen ROMs did not have Galaxy S support. HTC phones always have, and always will have Cyanogen support.

first of all Samsung already had CM support, not as long as HTC of course but HTC was the first device Cyanogen owns hence HTC got support, that said many devices outside of HTC had support as well just lesser known brands, Cyanogen now own an LG phone...

second of all, this isn't limited to CM..they sent A BUNCH of free phones out to developers...so now developers dont need to beg for donations to get their new phone so they can develop for it.. Samsung will provide them with new phones...no OEM did this before...and whats better is if they brick their phones..Samsung has top notch warranty...aka I can take my phone and smash it against the wall and Samsung will replace it to me free of charge...HTC will give me the option of buying a new one at FULL retail value..or hold my phone hostage until I pay them 27$ for return shipping...

And if you read the comments on engadget and the other sites who published this..a HUGE amount of people said they are now gonna skip the Evo 3D to get the SGS 2 when it hits the US because of this...

I don't know how many megapixels they convert at. But I can assure you it is plenty enough for facebook since you keep saying that is the only thing people use their camera for.

It is not VITAL for business, lol. Do you even know what you're talking about? Tell me this: if an IT guy has a hundred devices to prepare and hand out to an entire department, and all of them will be identical... Say he gets a nand backup of the first device. He then tries to restore that nand on the other 99 devices. Will this work on the Sammy? Is that a good thing or bad thing? Do you think this would work on the HTC? Is that a good thing or bad thing?

Again, please research this before you comment any further. You are dead wrong. Samsung is absolutely under the authority of both the WTO and the ITC. And I am getting tired of correcting your blatantly false claim to the contrary. Again, research it before you comment any further on it. YEs, Samsung is free to do whatever they can get away with in Korea. But once they sell a single product in another country, they are under the authority of the WTO and ITC. Period. This is a fact.

That is totally fine for them to do. It doesn't give them any advantage though. It's not like Samsung is the only company making components. HTC is free to buy whatever components they want from whoever they want.

First of all, CyanogenMod is a TEAM, not a person. There are several people involved that own many different devices. It's not one person who happens to own this type of phone. Secondly, I never claimed that HTC devices were the ONLY devices supported by Cyanogen. I said the Galaxy S was not. As you can see here:

Again, HTC already has developer support. They didn't need to do this. All of the major devs out there already have HTC ROMs. Samsung is the one playing catch up here, not HTC.

Care to place a bet on which one sells more? Just because a few people on engadget said they will get the Galaxy S 2 doesn't mean anything. I guarantee HTC will sell a whole lot more phones than Samsung, just like they always do. And there will be plenty of custom ROMs for every one of the HTC phones, just like there always is. First of all its optional..second of all...he is not suppose to do nand backups..you have something called "remote syncing"....no one does nand backups in corporate environments...

Please tell me why I should care about this nonsense. You rattle off some random stats of an OLED. Like I said, if you are going to tell me the Galaxy S 2 has a more efficient screen than the Evo 3D, then tell me how efficient each of them are. You are just making crap up at this point. Well, not at this point, you've been doing it all along.

First off, HTC doesn't make "sub par" cameras. The camera on the Evo is just fine. Yeah, you may have to adjust some settings in order to get a better picture, but it is very much possible to get good quality out the Evo camera. It's certainly on par or better than the Droid cameras.

There are way, WAY more people ready to make use of 3D cameras and a glasses free 3D screen, than there are ready to make use of a 2 megapixel video chat from a phone. There is literally no video chat client that runs on Android that will stream a 2 megapixel video stream. And there is no client that will receive and display such a stream anyway. No comparison here. You were obviously biased and just making crap up when you said the 3D cameras on the Evo were an unknown, the 3D screen was a tie, and the front camera on the Galaxy S 2 was better due to the more megapixels. The bottom line is, everything you can do with the Sammy front cam can be done with the Evo 3D front cam. But the sammy will never take the 3D pics and vids that the Evo 3D takes, nor will it ever display the 3D videos, or the high resolution of the Evo 3D screen.

True, Samsung can decide to include some components that haven't been fully tested. But then you end up with the faulty GPS of the Galaxy S, and the faulty radios of the Nexus S 4G. I would certainly not call that an advantage.

Korea avoided the recession because the entire country is about half the size of a single state in the USA. I'm sure if you only count half of California, they would have skipped the recession too.

Man, you realize that hundreds or even thousands of people said they were getting an HTC phone when HTC agreed to open the bootloaders? Liek I said, Samsung is just playing catch up. You can bet there will be more custom ROMs for the HTC phones, just like there always has been. The Samsung is NOT a better phone. If it were, then they wouldn't have to give them away in order to get people to develop for them. It's not like these devs are a bunch of idiots who just don't know any better. Yes, HTC will sell more smartphones than Samsung. They will sell a LOT more smartphones than Samsung.

You do realize that the quarterly profits HTC just posted were about half of the quarterly profits Samsung posted in their best quarter ever, for the whole company- not just mobile. So you are out of your mind if you think Samsung is going to compete with HTC in this area. HTC is a MUCH larger phone manufacturer than Sansung.

3d front cam? it can display the higher resolution by connecting it via MHL...and as I said 3d is a gimmick tech..I remember watching jurrasic park in orlando in 3d cool..movies..cool..but I would never use it to record a video...neither would I use it on a small cellphone screen..I am telling you you have to see it in person..its nothing that great...

your under impression that encryption means data cant be copied..it can with a password..anyways no IT person is gonna spend time using clockwork or amon ra or etc..they instead hook it up to a tool like Samsung Odin and flahs 10 devices at once...then remote sync the data..thats the standard security policy in corporations...

Those are not because they are poorly tested Nexus S 4g uses the same chip as the Epic 4g for 4g..as for GPS..people are saying that what happened was Samsung planned to use Skyhook instead of Google for maps..at last minute samsung was forced to drop skyhook by Google and use Google for location based services..hence the poor GPS...also the GPS chip was not made by samsung...

See you have to see how it works...Samsung makes chip, tests chip, releases prototypes, sells chip, manufacturer uses chip..samsung on other hand can already use it at the prototype phase...

Man, you realize that hundreds or even thousands of people said they were getting an HTC phone when HTC agreed to open the bootloaders? Liek I said, Samsung is just playing catch up. You can bet there will be more custom ROMs for the HTC phones, just like there always has been. The Samsung is NOT a better phone. If it were, then they wouldn't have to give them away in order to get people to develop for them. It's not like these devs are a bunch of idiots who just don't know any better. They know which phones are the best and they buy the ones they want.

Actually most people buy things they are familiar with...brand effects people more then anything else..hence why Apple is doing so well...They gave them phones away as a marketing gimmick and its a good move on their part...

Yes, HTC will sell more smartphones than Samsung. They will sell a LOT more smartphones than Samsung.

You do realize that the quarterly profits HTC just posted were about half of the quarterly profits Samsung posted in their best quarter ever, for the whole company- not just mobile. So you are out of your mind if you think Samsung is going to compete with HTC in this area. HTC is a MUCH larger phone manufacturer than Sansung.

You do realize that around 25% of all cellphones in the US are Samsung right? cause smartphones are not only phones there are...samsung also is 2nd largest cellphone manufacturer around the world behind Nokia...

Now in terms of smartphones..Samsung sold a record amount of SGS phone in the US..

HTC had total revenue of $3.5 billion earnings and $511 million profit..Samsung earned 2.85$ billion in just profit...

HTC cant be the only option forever..change comes..this year we have mroe choice of phones and OEMs then ever..so its progress whether you like it or not...

Palm and kyoceras rarely release devices..I have not looked at motorola cause they lock stuff..but I know for a fact Apple, Samsung, Nokia are better..

thats not true...HD is different..you have before programming at around 360p that was 4:3 and it got bumped up to 720p-1080p wide screen...3d is different..some things look cool in 3d others look worse in 3d...and having a 3d TV is different then having 3d on a phone..

HTC phones dont come out bug free either..remember the Evo not being available due to faulty stock? and also the 30fps issue..and sd card issue and etc..all phones have their issues....the fact that the Nexus S 4g has the same chip as the Epic and performs worse is an indication that its not a hardware thing...the GPS has to do with skyhook thing..

Samsung is not the greatest company in history...what I showed you was profit for samsung electric..not Samsung group..that said Apple is REALLY profitable..unlike other manufacturers Apple sells things at a premium..aka if you say buy a macbook with same hardware as a pc..it would cost you 2x more...their profit margins are just REALLY REALLY big...
