Re: Any regrets?
correct its rooted, but samsung phones can't run custom roms unless the rom was built for samsung. the only custom roms samsung roms can run are roms that are built from samsung source. this is why the hero had 2.1 custom roms 2-3 months before samsung did. just because the phone is rooted doesn't mean any rom can be ported to it and work.

Re: Any regrets?
This guy had no intention on buying the evo. He just wanted to talk smack and was hoping evo users would respond differently. You guys have a short memory if u don't remember his iphone vs evo threads. Troll.

Re: Any regrets?
Well, honestly I'm in the tossup between the EPIC and EVO. Love the Evo, keep playing with it, but I use the keyboard on my TP2 ALL the time. I really mean all the time. When it's on, the keyboard is almost ALWAYS out. That's the only reason I've not jumped to the EVO yet.
About the post that XDA only supports HTC, pretty much true, but the samsung folks have their own similar forum called SDX developers. I've been reading everything on both phones, well the Galaxy S series and hearing about they issues they are exhibiting. Evo common issues: 30FPS without hack, weak WIFI, non standard (as usual from HTC) bluetooth stack, cracking plastic, screen separations, light leaks. Samsung Galaxy S issues: Some odd lag exhibiting with some apps, GPS signal issues, plastic reportedly feels weak/flexes too much. Samsung has a horrible past track record of supporting their phones, but since this is being released world wide and they want to take over large market share, hopefully this might change?!? They've already released an update for certain areas for the Galaxy S... To me, I think it's all going to come down to the keyboard for me. I've had soft keyboards in the past on quite a few devices and not sure I could go back... Either way, my next phone WILL be an android phone. |
