Re: Samsung Galaxy S Display vs. Iphone 4 Display

People who try and say the Samsung Display is on par with retina need new glasses. iPhone4 screen is RIDICULOUSLY beautiful and crisp, especially on tiny text.

Pentile technology is a horrible idea..whats the point of having a high resolution screen if the technology limits sharp detail??

You're comparing resolution with a lighting technology, which is apples to oranges (excuse the pun). I would LOVE a 640x960 super amoled screen, that would be awesome. I like the brightness and the fact that the colors "pop" out at you on the Vibrant. It really is amazing. With a larger screen and lower resolution, of course it will never be as crisp, the PPI on the i4 is insane!

Personally I prefer the Super Amoled WVGA over the i4 screen, but it's just preference, there is no "better"

No one said its on par with the Retina..it is Better then the Retina >.> lol

Yes tiny font will not be legible as it is on the Retina..but who cares?!?! your not suppose to read letters that small on a screen..it will put a lot of pressure on your eyes...

Super AMOLED also wins out in other things like using less energy, more colors, better contrast, faster refresh rate.

Have you yourself seen an SUPER AMOLED screen? not AMOLED but a Super AMOLED screen?

+1, play with a Vibrant for a few and see what you think, looks better than a Nexus One to me.

They come preloaded with Avatar, which is a great movie to rock on a Vibrant, watch some of it and that bad boy and see what you think.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S Display vs. Iphone 4 Display

It seems clear that in the iPhone wins but I always hoped that we do not sort of Apps for all. We should be able to do things on the browser and the most popular websites already have their mobile version. So, do I really need Apps for each function that I perform. Well say it is not desired as much as I'm concerned.

Just saw a super amoled screen for the millionth time - was looking at the Vibrant. Not very impressed. For one the colors look unnatural. The font looks lego like. The samsung screen and the I4 screen should not be cmpared as the Iphone screen is far and I mean far superior. Accurate color and insane sharpness -clarity. I own an EVO for the record.
