Re: Are things really that bad with the 800w?
I love my 800w and my only complaint would have to be battery life. I do charge my device throughout the day whenever I can but whe I know I will be away from power I tend to turn off anything that would use any extra power (ie., bluetooth, power vision). So far I have been able to find many customizations using this site to make my 800w just the way I want it. Of course, like I have posted before, you can always find cons in any device if you look for them. So far this is the best PDA I have owned.

I would agree that the worst thing about this device is the battery life. Although, after using it for 3-4 months I have to say the battery life has improved.

The pro FTW! add shortcuts to tflo and the really important ones to fouchflo. if u really want hardkeys galore look at the mogul. also g scroll will allow you to map the capacitive buttons

Re: Are things really that bad with the 800w?
In my case i think my battery runs low so fast because i have set System Seven to alert me when i get a new email in real time, that means i have to be conected to power vison at all times.

Side sliders not so much. Palm has done a lot of unique tricks to the OS to make it more phone like, like reject calls with SMS, the green key brings up the caller history, easy access to the dial pad, hard keys for email, calendar, etc. I prefer it to other WM devices, but it really depends on your needs and expectations. Battery life is just like every WM device on the market: blah. It'll also depend on what you are running i.e. push email. I get though a day with 70% left easily. |
