Re: BT Connect Stereo headset

I am not sure if I understand your question. All I have to do to go from one bluetooth to another is turn one off then turn the other on. I have a Plantronx stereo headset and a Jabra that I use for calls, when I want to switch from my Jabra I turn it off then turn on the Plantronx which connects automatically. Is that what you are asking?

Re: BT Connect Stereo headset

Big D5, if you leave the BT on 100% of the time, then all you have to do is turn on the headset you want to use, which is simple enough (assuming the device has been previously paired).

However, as I understand the question, I think he is turning off BT when he isn't using it so as to conserve battery life. I have not found anything that is a one button on/off switch of BT. I don't think a separate application would be any benefit because the keystrokes to select a program would be as many (or more) strokes as clicking the BT icon, clicking the Mode tab, checking the "Turn on BT" box, clicking OK button (total 4 key strokes).

I know I get some really strange behavior if I forget to turn of the BT on the phone before I turn on Insignia MP3 player, and vice versa.

I haven't tried it on my 800w but it should work. Post up and let us know how/if it works.

I tried the BTIcon app. Seems to basically do the same thing that the existing BT icon does (in the upper RH corner of the screen). On top of that it keeps crashing on my 800W and I have to cancel the "Send Notification to Windows" message.

I decided to remove it and continue to use the existing Icon provided.

***** EDIT --> 4:30 PM 10/31/08: *****

I discovered that after I removed the BTIcon app, I could no longer get any of my BT headsets to properly connect to the 800W. They behaved like they were connected but the sound came out the 800 speaker and not the headset. And a soft reset did not fix the issue. I had to remove the associations in DEVICES list and then rediscover them.
