All of a sudden.. gmail won't sync...

I bought my wife an 800W. We're on Sprint. Have never had a problem, then all of a sudden today, she can't send emails through gmail. She can recieve, just not send. All of her settings are correct. I actually set up her gmail on my Mogul, to test it, with the exact same settings, and I was able to send and receive. Anyone have any suggestions?

I hate to hard reset this thing, I've pulled out the battery, but don't want to wipe it all out...

Hmm... strange issue. I would normally think that it was a GMail issue, but you tested it on your Mogul. I would suggest running a program like MemMaid or SKTools to do a deep registry scan, but I honestly don't think it would help.

I recommend removing your battery for the night and rebooting in the morning. It may be fixed, it may not. Hopefully it's just one of those temporary glitches.

Nevermind... just found a "work-around"... I'll keep this up, in case anyone else has this problem... need to switch to IMAP, but you have to "trick" your phone... see here...

I'm having problems getting my gmail to work properly. I just got my 800 today and I've not been able to get it working (I even tried the steps from the link provided). I've never had an issue getting gmail set up on a winmo device (I've used many) and I've been able to get my .mac account working just fine. I set up my gmail account and then hit send/receive and it prompts me to enter in my password again, like it is wrong (though I changed my gmail password to make sure it was right - I know I'm entering in the right information and i have re-checked numerous times). Any ideas? Thanks.

When it asks you for the username and password, what does the screen look like? Do you get this same screen when you start Internet Explorer on you phone?

Nope, I only get it with gmail. I can check my .mac account and use the internet just fine.

Hmm... have you tried entering the password using the on-screen keyboard to make sure all numbers are registering properly?

I really don't know what else it could be, especially if your other email account is working.

Yeah, it is really strange. It says check user name and password and try again. I used the on-screen keyboard and no go with that either. Its just weird. Usually gmail is so simple to get up and running. And I know that all my info is being entered in correctly. Weird. Thanks for your suggestions though....

Probably another stupid question, but have you tried logging into GMail through Internet Explorer? If it works, then we know its an issue with the software, not with GMail
