Any way to perform manual only active sync?

One thing I like about the Centro, you could plug in the USB connector and let it charge without syncing. If you wanted to perform a "Hot sync" you hit a button.

Whenever I plug in my Treo 800w, the active sync program launches and I have to sit there and wait for it to sync everything. Sometimes I just want to plug it in to charge, sometimes I just want to browse folders on the device.

Is there a way to set it up so that instead of automatically syncing, I can just do a manual sync by selecting the icon?

Re: Any way to perform manual only active sync?

There may be a better way through more advanced configuration, but the only menu driven way that I can see is if you go into Activesync on your phone and change the synchronization schedule to manual. The downside to this is that you can't set it for individual connections AFAIK, so if you sync over the air with an exchange server then it will switch that one to manual synchronization as well. =/
