I use Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ to edit mp3 files. Connect the phone to the computer then drag and drop. I use xplorer2 as an alternative to windows explorer. http://www.zabkat.com/ Both are freeware.

Re: Ringers on the treo 800 how?

here's a site I just discovered... I tried it, it worked, it's fun...and... it's FREE (note: this site make mp3 ringtones)

http://www.makeownringtone.com/

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the HTC touch uses WMA (not mp3) files for ringers - oh well, I had fun at the site anyway.

I have the I believe the diamonds mp3 trimmer on mine. It allows you to make ringtones right on your device once you have the song on it. I am trying to find a link, will post back up when I find it.

Re: Ringers on the treo 800 how?

I use www.ventones.com - it is totally free, easy to use, and I have not received any spam from registering. If you have a song on your pc, you can browse to upload it to the site. Then it will allow you to scroll to select (and listen) to any 30 second segment of the song. After you decide on the segment, select create ringtone. You can either text it to your phone, save it to your pc, or it gives you a direct web link to go to (from your Sprint phone) to d/l the ringtone directly to your phone.

Here is an example...
http://ventones.com/m/681038
This link is a direct link it gave me for one of mine. I forget which one - Maybe Thunderstruck AC/DC beginning. The links are always the same, accept for the # at the end.
Maybe we should start another link with Ventone ringtone links!
I don't know how long they stay active though.

Also, keep in mind that there are several web sites out there that will quickly convert the audio from Youtube videos you can then save to your computer. There are also recorders, such as "Total Recorder" that will record anything coming through your speakers. You have to buy it if you don't want a "beep" every few seconds.

I increased the recording volume on mine to be louder, so some are a little distorted - but I can hear them!

OK... I just clicked on the link from my PC and it showed as a bad link. However, I went back to it from my phone and it did work. It goes directly to asking if I want to d/l the Thunder.......mp3 to '\My Documents\'? ( So I guess this IS the Thunderstruck one
