Re: Looks like 800w isnt rev a enabled out of box
what about signal strength on the 800w is there a way to improve that. I work in a building where only AT&T users get good signal, even with my phone on roaming there's no change.
My co worker has the Treo 650 (sprint) and gets full bars throughout the building. any ideas on what i could do to increase my signal bars? |

I can conform that even though the 800w does use RevA, it isn't turned on my default. I got mine from telesales. I toggled the "Enable RevA" setting while testing the speed and the phone's ability to accept calls and text messages. With the setting unchecked (default) I was getting about 400-500k download and 80k upload. With the setting checked, I got 700-800k down and 200k up. I'll leave it checked for the next few days and let everyone know if there is any adverse effects on stability.

Re: Looks like 800w isnt rev a enabled out of box
So, my ringer doesn't work now. I tried hard reset, still doesn't work. Ideas?
I figured it out. Reset and uncheck and set to automatic. Last edited by dmc1068; 08-21-2008 at 04:42 PM. |

When you did make the change, did you just check the "Enable RevA"? I did that and left the other setting to automatic and it works great so far.

Re: Looks like 800w isnt rev a enabled out of box
I can confirm that after a couple of soft resets, that the ringer was gone! The only thing that my phone would do when I got a call was vibrate. I tried digging up my old phone alarm activation and trying to change the ring profiles with that. The only thing that worked was to uncheck the "Enable Rev. A", hard reset and start over. All is back to normal now.
