My MDA was working fine until I turned it into flight mode to take a trip when I turned it off flight mode, I had a notification of a new message in the old notification area and when I clicked it, it went to the newly installed threaded SMS program. After I restarted the MDA it worked fine. But now I have two new text message notifications in the old area. When I click the new messages to clear them, it goes to the new program and there are no new messages. New notifications come to the right area for the new program, but I can't get rid of the old notifications. Any suggestions. Otherwise it works perfectly.

That is the problem they were discussing about getting a txt message while installing and moving the files into the ROM. Its why you disable the radio while you attempt this...

The second cause of this, is if you did not purge all of your txt messages before moving over to the new SMS program. I know some people like to have ancient archives of txt messages but this is one concession you will have to make when switching over.

.... unfortunately, once you move over, unless you revert back to the old sms system, purge your txt, turn the radio off and re-install, youll be stuck with the old notifications forever. If you look hard enough you will find programs that can sync your txt messages...

good luck

I guess you can throw me in the loop for a request for the CAB file. When someone has a free minute (hey, it's almost Christmas...I don't need it THAT bad!), could they email it to:

kenj24 at gmail dot com

Thanks in advance!

Can you run the old messaging app directly? I don't have the Palm one...yet so I can't tell for sure.

i get this SAME problem everytime.

I've now hard reset my phone like 5 times in the past month. the Threader works fine for a week or so, and then i get thats stupid "1 Unread Text Message" and when i click on it it goes to the new messages instead of the old one and i've now given up. i'm back to the dumb microsoft txt messaging program.
