anyone have a problem of not being able to receive texts from a 700wx? I thought it was mentioned here before. I assumed that it was fixed. it's still an issue.

Unless I'm the only one, I think a correction (clarification?) is in order here:

I can send and receive just fine with Threaded text and a 700wx to another 700wx. Have tried it with 3 separate users with total success.

Failure
has come with the 700wx sending to any 6700 with threaded SMS. However, I do not know if that is threaded sms or just a 700wx --> 6700 issue as I have not tried it prior to the Palm app.

Now, is this b/c of the Palm threaded SMS or b/c of the ongoing problem with the 700wx and Sprint messaging? My feeling is it's the latter as it makes the most sense.

Once we get our "fix" I think we can better evaluate what does and doesn't work on the Treo.

Hi, I did what the instructions told me, but now when I try to use my phone, the following error message pops up: "cprog is not a valid pocket pc application"
Did I do something wrong? Well, obviously I did, I mean what did I do? How can I fix it or is a hard reset my only option?

tia!

It sounds like you didn't copy ALL the files from \Program Files\Palm Messaging over to \Windows.

You must "show all files" and there should be upwards of 13 files to copy including .dll files. If you even miss 1, you will get these errors.

No need for a hard reset. Just re-copy ALL the files in that directory to \Windows.

I tested sending text from my 700wx to my 6700 before I added the Palm threader to the 6700 and text worked fine. After I added the Palm threader to my 6700 the text could no longer be displayed so I am not sure what to say here. The 6700 receives text from standard phones without any problems and I can send text from the 6700 to the 700wx and everything works fine. If you would like I can hard reset my 6700 send some text messages and get you some screenies of it working, or what ever testing would be helpful. I just use my 6700 for testing new programs so I don't mind messing it up.

Good info guys.

That is interesting about the 6700 cannot receive from the 700wx once Palm Messaging is installed.

Not sure why that is. Maybe related to the whole 700wx/Sprint/SMS debacle, which at this point is the null hypothesis.

Anyone know of someone with Cingular, a WM5 device and Palm Messaging installed? Does it work there? lol

That's really our only option for investigating this further...
