Not sure if this helps, or if someone has discovered this yet:
If I send a reply in a thread, they hang in the outbox. When I send a new message (not in a thread), all of the messages hanging in the outbox immediately go out. Kind of my work around at this point. So...what is it that triggers the outbox to empty all of the hanging messages if a 'new' message is sent(outside of a thread)??? Not really a techie, but I've been testing and following this thread since the first post. Any thoughts around this? UPDATE: This is somewhat of another workaround. At the main screen of all of my threaded convo's, I will send to someone as NEW, rather than replying within the thread. The SMS adds my 'new' response to the thread and sends without hanging in the outbox. The only thing that sucks about doing it that way is I have to lookup the contact each time. |

Problems
Ok I've been following the progress in a couple of forums for the past few days. I just got my 700wx on Sprint yesterday and I installed several versions of the .cab file. Things were ok ( still had the lag problem and no MMS like everyone else, and garbage text to AIM). But then I went to add a new Email Account in Pocket Outlook and I couldn't (I tried to setup GMAIL). It would let me complete the process but the new account would not show up. I also had a hotmail account automatically setup by the phone when I logged into MSN. That was there, but I couldn't edit any of the settings for that account. Does anyone know why???
After that I did a hard reset. After doing so I used the built in SMS program to send a text to AIM...and it was still sending garbage text.....is there an AIM problem regardless of the new SMS program????? Also, someone was very right to point out that the if you setup chats in the SMS program and send a message to someone (even if you already had an established chat) the messages would go out right away. That makes me think that the chat is simply a view (someone else mentioned that)....Also the program acts funky when you click on the timestamp. It allows you to go to the message and seemingly be able to resend from right in the chat without having to go to the outbox. But every time I did this the message that I sent would disappear. Has anyone else noticed this? Furthermore, does anyone know if it's possible to write a script that would automatically empty the outbox??? May seem like extra work, but it sounds relatively simple if you know how to write code for a Windows Mobile Device. |

Sad
I was afraid of this. I love the chat feature and I loved my treo 650. But I can't use the new messaging app with all of these problems. Palm needs to rectify the situation ASAP.
I'm so tempted to get a 700P because at the end of the day, I just want something that is functional. I love my 650 because of the chat feature and the huge call log. By the way do you know what the capacity is for the 700wx??? |
