I think he wants to delete personal information too (contacts, etc.). Go http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBC...ernal2001#hard find out how to perform a hard reset.
This will pretty much return the phone to how it was out of the box. EDIT: I give up, the URL tags don't want to work with me. |

Section 7A: Help 321
Help Performing a Hard Reset A hard reset erases all personal information, such as appointments, contacts, and tasks, as well as programs you have added, such as third-party software on your smart device. Never do a hard reset without first trying a soft reset. You can restore previously synchronized information the next time you sync. Review the following important information before performing a hard reset: Synchronize to restore your Outlook data, such as Outlook email, Calendar, Contacts, Notes, and Tasks. You can use a backup and restore solution (make sure it?s an application that?s approved by Palm) to restore configurations and preferences such as speed-dials, SMS entries, call log information, and personal settings. Some third-party applications do not create a backup on your computer when you synchronize. If you do a hard reset, you may lose information in these applications and you need to reinstall the application on your device after the hard reset. Please contact the developer to find out if your information is backed up during synchronization. When you synchronize after a hard reset, the source folder in My Documents changes from Treo My Documents to WM_your name. Your device might not re-establish a Sprint PCS Vision session after a hard reset. To manually establish a new Sprint PCS Vision session, open the Web browser to access a Web site. Tip: You can also do a soft reset by unplugging your device from a power source (if connected) and then removing the battery and reinserting it. 322 Section 7A: Help A hard reset can tell you whether a problem stems from your smart device or from an application installed on it. If you do not experience the problem after you perform a hard reset, the problem may be related to software you installed. See ?Third-Party Applications? on page 350 for suggestions on diagnosing third-party software issues. 1. Use one hand to press the Battery Door Release and use the other hand to slide the battery door downward to remove it from your smart device. 2. If the screen is off, press Power/End to wake up the screen. 3. While pressing and holding Power/End , use the tip of the stylus to gently press and hold the reset button on the back of your smart device. 4. Continue pressing and holding both buttons until the ?Erase all data?? prompt appears. 5. Press Up to confirm the hard reset. 6. Wait for the progress bar on the Treo logo screen to fill before continuing to use your smart device. 7. (Optional) Sync your smart device with your computer to restore your previously synchronized information. (Connect your smart device to your computer, press Menu (right softkey), and then select Programs > ActiveSync > Sync. If you use a backup utility, you may also need to restore a backup to recover additional information and settings.) Thats it. Hope that helps

I did a hard reset just as it was outlined above. I tried to sync my 700wx to restore my Contacts and task. My Sync folder vanished from my desktop. I changed my phones name to match the sync folder but every time i connect the phone to my pc i get a outlook wizard prompt.

I've read in some post on here that after you hard reset your device that you should then load it up with programs, etc. until the devices memory is completely full. Do another hard reset and then repeat the entire process at least 3 times. This should clear out a lot of stuff.
