I installed the upgrade without a problem and my activesync connects and searches for changes, but doesn't find any. it just searches...and the activesync arrows on the phone display don't move anymore; they just pop up and sit. any ideas? do i do a hard reset since the soft didn't help?

Wow, after reading this entire thread I am shocked. I installed 1.15 with zero issues. The install took 30 trouble free minutes. The device seems much stable now. I think BT peforms much better. It also added a few options.
I don't use PAM so I'm not sure if that works or not. EDIT, I have one issue after the install. My backlight always goes back to 1 minute. If I set it to 4-5 minutes no matter what it goes back to 1 minute and always goes dark if I don't touch the phone within 10 seconds. Actually I'm not sure if the update caused this but all I know is it's driving me crazy. |

I upgraded my phone by SD card and had no problems. The only issue I have, so far, is using it with my Motorola S9. With 1.14, I could answer the phone by pressing the answer button on the phone or on my headset, which lets me have the conversation on the headset. With 1.15, if I can only have the conversation IF I press the answer button on the headset. If I pressed on the answer button on the phone, it would let me have the conversation on the phone.
Originally, I thought this was caused with me having A2DP installed, then performing the upgrade. Fortunately, when Sprint changed their billing system last Friday, it caused a MAJOR HEADACHE for me and several Sprint Tier 2 techs. I had somehow lost my data access on my account. My buddy and I formulated that it wasn't a hardware issue, since we did an ESN swap with his phone and I still wasn't able to get data access. After about a week and several Tier 2 techs, I was able to get data access established. One tech incisted it was a hardware issue, since the phone took a long time to restart after a ##RTN#, so he flagged me for a new phone. After getting my phone, I paired my Motorola BT S9 headset and was still only able to have a conversation ONLY if I answered the call via my headset. I just have to learn to answer the phone via the answer button on the headset. As far as any other issues, I have none. I do like the way the phone restarts allot quicker. Quote:
I don't think there's a version 1.22 from Sprint yet. I know Verizon offers it. |

Re: Sprint 700wx 1.15 Update
I did the upgrade on 2/25/08
The thing I notice was that I could no longer use my phone as a USB Modem. There are 8 computer techs in my office, all have the 700WX Treo, two of us did the update and six did not. Two of us can no longer use our phones as USB Modems the other six still can. I did everything I could think of, hard reset, soft reset, device reset, left battery out over night, blah blah blah Finally I called Sprint, first three times I talked to the Advanced Technical Support and was cut off, the fourth time I called talked to ATS who transfered me to Palm who transfered me back to Sprint... Fifth time I called Sprint, I was passed on to a supervisor who gave me a number to call at Palm. The first person I spoke to at Palm said that I would have to pay for a replacement phone and for the service call... ummm NO Sum it up, you can't revert back to the old version after you upgrade it to 1.15. I spoke to a senior tech for Palm. He would acknowledge that Palm released a new update for Sprint 700wx but wouldn't admit that it is a bad update (no surprise there). I was finally passed back to Sprint and then Sprint Retention who will be sending me a replacement phone. Last edited by elephant007; 02-27-2008 at 02:56 PM. |

Re: Sprint 700wx 1.15 Update
I have moved back to my 700wx after moving over to the touch, just can't lie without the keyboard any longer. I did a hard reset and then did the 1.15 upgrade. Has anyone had an issue loading cody's sms. It will not remove the embedded text message, not sure if they changed something in the 1.15 version.
Please help, I am tyring to hold out for the 800 if Sprint ever comes out with it. Thanks, |

Re: Sprint 700wx 1.15 Update
Hmmmm...I haven't heard of such a problem. If you're feeling brave though, after having loaded 1.15 you might want to do a hard reset and start adding apps from scratch. This might solve the problem. Add Cody's SMS first after the hard reset and see if it works.
Just a thought. late, Coz |

Re: Sprint 700wx 1.15 Update
Tried that several times. Is there more to it than just loading the cab? It has been a while and I no longer have my notes on this?
Thanks |
