sms problem

ok i just did a hard reset recently and installed all my programs i had on my treo 700wx.....i added the palm threading app and it was working......i noticed i been having problems with verizon carriers with send an recieve. the ones i send are delayed and sometimes i never recieved ones sent to me.....so it dawned on me i might have fprgot to add the sms patch and i did patch but still same problem....

does this patch have to be doone prior to installing palm messaging app and mms hack?

please get back to me i going out of my mind here!!!!
