I'm pulling my hair out. I had the mms software working just fine on my 700 yesterday. I had to do a hard reset because of another problem I was having, and now I can't for the life of me get the MMS hack to work. I used the cab file from my sd card and then performed a manual soft reset (my treo has never asked me to prompted me to reset after installing this before) i got the"mms config" option on the menu but not the mms account. I uninstalled reinstalled 3 more times and no luck. Finally I installed one last time and did not do the soft reset. To my surprise it showed up as an account now. I ended up doing a soft reset later and now it disapeared again. If it helps at all the only non stock items on my 700 are beta 4 sms threading, sprint sms patch, resco reg edit and explorer, tcpmp (w/ aac plugin), and sirius wm5. I did just notice that there are two message programs in my program list one is titled Messaging (1) and the other is just Messaging. They both go to sms threading. Thanks!

edit -- I finally got frustrated and started over again. Seems to be working fine.

I just wanted to say as a new user to this forum that I really appreciate the info you guys are giving out. And by the way, the program for the MMS hack works great. Thanks.

That's exactly what was happening to me, I must have installed and uninstalled 7 or 8 times before I did a hard reset and installed it again. Then I sent a pic mail before I reset the device. I'm not smart enough to know if that had anything to do with it working now, but it does.
BTW I used the CAB every time.

Well .. I only know 1 way to reset it and that is with the reset button inside the battery door .. am i supposed to reset another way??

or not reset at all??

ive been using the cab install mostly .. but had even tried the manual previously and got the same issues

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I got frustrated and did a FULL reset (hold the power button and the reset button at the same time). This erases everything on the phone and restores it to factory condition. After I did a full reset i reinstalled and it's working now. (I have had to do a soft reset since then for another reason, and the program is still functioning)

Maybe someone who knows more about this could help to explain why this happens?

Carrier: Bell Canada

Does this work on multiple carriers or is it exclusively Sprint? If it isn't exclusive, then is there any additional steps required to get this workin for me? my carrier is bell mobility in Canada

I did the first thread install and it works fine for me. I have a 700wx. It will let me send a pic to a Sprint, and a Cingular carrier. It won't let me send a video because that part of it doesn't work. Yes it has to connect to the internet everytime I send or recieve a picture but that doesn't bother me. I am just glad that I can send a pic to a phone # instead of sending one to a email.
