My company exchange server does not work with the Treo. As a work around I have my company email forwarded to my gmail account. I set up my gmail to show my company email as the address the email was coming from. If I log onto the web based gmail this works perfectly. However, if use mY treo and POP3 to use gmail the return addree shows as my gmail account.

Does anyone how to fix this problem?

I didn't even know GMail had that option, I just saw it on my settings though. It may have to be with the Treo going directly through the SMTP server... I'm really not sure.

I don't recall anyone experimenting with this, but I'd check with GMail support and see what they say.

Sorry don't have more advice than that...

I don't think it's possible. I'm thinking it's Gmail's SMTP servers settings not allowing you to do it. I had a similar problem when my regular POP email, did not have an SMTP server, so I had to use Gmail. When I sent email from my Treo from the main email account (example Ed@mymail.com), the receiver would see my Gmail account (example Ed@gmail.com). Even using FlexMail, which allows you to enter a reply-to address does not allow it. Fortunately, my main POP email already has their own SMTP server, so I don't have to worry about it anymore.
