 I don't think it's possible.  I'm thinking it's Gmail's SMTP servers settings not allowing you to do it.  I had a similar problem when my regular POP email, did not have an SMTP server, so I had to use Gmail.  When I sent email from my Treo from the main email account (example  
Ed@mymail.com), the receiver would see my Gmail account (example 
Ed@gmail.com).  Even using FlexMail, which allows you to enter a reply-to address does not allow it.  Fortunately, my main POP email already has their own SMTP server, so I don't have to worry about it anymore.
