Re: Device just factory reset - but I didn't tell it to...
Sounds like a device failure. Did you have a backup? Was your device acting up before you soft reset?

Nope and nope. Everything was routine. Didn't have any backups because I wasn't planning on this.

Sorry you lost all your info. In the future, I recommend you use pimbackup or dashwire in case it should happen again. I know that doesn't help you now, but might save you another headache later.

No I had not.
It's easy to just say "oh well, back up next time" when you aren't trying to replace months of accumulated contacts and notes after a random device failure. |

I really don't want to rub salt in the wound by asking this, but do you sync with your PC at all? If you do, all your contacts should be on there and install on your PPC in the next sync.
(I just re-did my wx from scratch this past weekend, and if it weren't for that, I wouldn't have even attempted it, so I can identify with your frustrations with lost contacts.) |

Sorry man.
FYI: I actually schedule backups every morning when I am asleep. So every morning at about 4:30 AM my backup software kicks in. There are some softwares that even allow you to ftp the backup files just in case the phone gets lost. |
