Or grab yourself a task manager like Magic Button, pBar, etc. Just poke around the software forum and try a few out.

Boy do I feel dumb. There it is right on the Tips & Tricks (Read First!) list. Maybe it should be called Read First AND Pay Attention
Someone should fix that list though because you only have to hold down the OK button. In fact, if I press Option and then OK nothing happens. I have hold down the OK button for a bit. Option seems to do nothing extra. I'll check out the task managers too. Thanks. Follow up: I got pBar and it works perfectly. It puts one little triangle in the top right corner of the Today page. From there you can exit applications, launch favorites, soft reset, and more handy things. |

You might try SPB Pocket Plus. I only used to use the battery monitor and close button from it.
With that close button you can tap to minimize a program, tap and hold to close or tap and drag down to open a task manager. Very intuitive and handy but not free. |

I am tyring True Toolbar and liking it so far. I need one handed support from my device manager and SPB and True Toolbar don't have that. So this may be a deal breaker for me on both. I sent an Email to TTB to see if this will be changed but I haven't received a reply yet.

I've been using SPB Pocket Plus for a few days now and really starting to like it. I started with almost everything disabled except for the application close functions. But now I'm using some of the other program launcher functions as well.

Here's my method for those interested:
1) AE Button Plus 2) TrueToolbar I use AE Button plus this way: Program for "OK" button - One click = Ok/Close (regular function, usually minimizes) - Double Click = Forces app to close - Triple Click = AE Button Task Manger (see pic below) I use TrueToolbar not to close apps but to either select them or just to see what is running. For closing apps, I just double click "OK". Using the Task Manager, I can select any app to go to while I'm in another program (e.g. a Task switcher) since it is a Pop-up task manager. I can also Close any app even if I'm not "in it" at that moment simply by highlighting it with the D-Pad and moving the d-pad Right. |
