I don't have any problem with duplicates, and I've been doing it that way for months. I'm sure that it's probably a little higher maintenance than some are up for, but if you are up too it, it's a free way to keep everything sync'd

If you want a cheap full featured exchange account without setup fees etc. Check out www.1and1.com I pay 6.99/month for 1Gig of space along with full connectivity to Outlook on your PC. I could not live with Exchange not syncing my calendar contacts and notes with my home and work copies of Outlook. In my opinion the Push Email is just 1 of 3 major features since I already have my contact lists in outlook.

mail2web is nice if you just want email pushed to your phone for free/cheap. Full sync with Outlook is ideal.

what you do to get your contacts to mail2web is set up your activesync account to do mail from mail2web and contacts/calendar from your desktop pc. Then sync. Once your contacts and calendar are updated on your phone, go back in to activesync and tell it you want to sync your contacts and calendar to the exchange server. Then manually sync and it will upload all of your contacts/calendar appointments to the server enabling you to pull them down whenever needed on the road. I haven't synced my phone to my desktop in a couple of months. As long as I accept calendar appointments on my phone, I'm just as caught up as my desktop outlook.
