Posting from my Pre.
Love this thing too much to go back to the touch pro so smooth, user friendly, and fast. I love everything it does from the multitasking, sms, contacts, (synergy is awesome), web, music, pics album, etc. Etc. Etc. I gotta say that what this does out of the box it does better than my old touch pro with third party support so I have the piece of mind knowing that I don't have to look for third party support just so it does its main functions well and everything and any app I add is just icing on the cake for enjoyment rather than need Wishlist for future updates - file manager, web downloading, video camera, battery life. (I know for a fact that these things aren't far away but imo this is what it needs to be perfect Last edited by MikeElGiga23; 07-30-2009 at 11:49 AM. |

Re: 3+ weeks w/ the pre (vs sprint touch pro)
i can't see how the TP2 will be much better
i'm tired of HTC's slow updates and buggy hardware. i brought my touch pro and pre to the hospital (poor signal), both reset and no programs run - the touch pro battery was dead by 2 PM, the pre made it until I got home all the pre needs is cut and paste from any text and i'll be content (and epocrates on webOS, and slingplayer...) |

Re: 3+ weeks w/ the pre (vs sprint touch pro)
Having been a Pre owner for a week, I just reactivated my Juicy ROM TP. The Pre cracked from USB slot to the edge of the screen (per Palm Forums, I am not the only one). I spent the past 2 days trying to get Sprint and Palm to replace it without any luck. Web OS1 and the display are good but the hardware is junk. It is the newest and most costly addition to my worthless-hardware junk drawer. Bummer. HTC may not be pretty but it is a war horse!!

Re: 3+ weeks w/ the pre (vs sprint touch pro)
The only time I consider going back to windows mobile, is when a official 6.5 or 7 is released. The catch 22 is by that time web OS will be on another level.
Hardware of the Palm Pre has been doing a good job. I don't even mess with the usb port I use the touchstone.

Re: 3+ weeks w/ the pre (vs sprint touch pro)
I have to agree with the people who prefer the Pre. At this point, WebOS is a really exciting platform that is easy to hack and to develop for. It's open, has a great app store, and it's powerful, sexy, slick, smooth, new, etc.
People who are addicted to ROMs, etc, would feel really at-home with the Pre. Instead of having to flash a new ROM, and LOSE EVERYTHING when some new feature is discovered, you just edit a tiny bit of code. WebOS is most 'interpreted,' so you can edit things on-the-fly. I don't think I'll give WM another chance until WM7, but who knows. I love that it took, what 5 days for the homebrew community to make a program that works better than WMwifirouter... the stuff that is coming up is outstanding quality. |
