Re: Great SenseUI Alternative!

OK, after playing with this a few hours, I have finally got everything working. The main point I can say is install this in main memory and not internal memory. This stopped all of freezes, hickups, and lockups for me!
Thanks Hibby! It looks great!!

.cab anyone?

umm. there are only like 3 cabs or something like that. not sure what's so time consuming. for the most part, it's a quick setup.

Re: Great SenseUI Alternative!

the setup isnt too bad, but I don't really like pointui as the base. I can't wait till someone just makes a hero theme from scratch like the various iphone themes and such that are around. I hate that I have to buy throttlelauncher or install pointui (which I found I really dislike) instead of someone just creating a rosie ui without all the garbage, but I realize it a little more of a coding nightmare than a simple iphone theme which is just putting some icons and a few animations, but I'm sure it can be done. I uninstalled this from my phone, but it was worth taking a look at.

Re: Great SenseUI Alternative!

I tried it but I find the startup to be slow as molasses.
Plus the annoying register pop up is itching for me to spend the money to kill the message.

I'll stick to Wisbar Advanced Desktop for the Sense UI...

Re: Great SenseUI Alternative!

I feel a bit stupid, but I have everything installed correctly. The only thing that is missing is the 4 quick launch icons on the home screen i.e. (youtube, opera, various programs).. I did my research before I did all of this, but I can't find a simple solution.

Is this because I need Home 2 PRO instead of the free edition?

Any help to get the 4 icons would be fantastic

Re: Great SenseUI Alternative!

I'm like you guys. Took about 6 hours to learn and setup this ui on my Groove5 ROM TP. Everything works! I think most people - like myself - install the two cab files (7 & 8???) but these are not the latest files! You need to download, unzip, and install #4 or #5. Once I did that everything worked as described but the weather was a bit hard to setup. I had to do it with the keyboard open because my soft keybd did not work in defining my city. I think this problem is ROM specific.

But not all is perfect... my phone will hang or self reboot and get stuck on one of the bootup screens. It does this like once a day. Other than this I like this interface a lot. Seems to have the main functions in place. I'm waiting for the next release and perhaps a few new apps.

Re: Great SenseUI Alternative!

Thanks a lot for posting this. I've been playing with this for a few days now and it's really snappy. I think I'm having some ROM incompatibility issues but it's probably an isolated incident. I'm going to look for another ROM that I think will work a little better with it.
