A 3.5 jack is just for headphones right?

Why does everyone make a fuss over the jack or the lack there of? It's not a dealbreaker. It's nice of them to add it in for free to the consumer but its not "OMG FINALLY HTC CARES ABOOT US"

I really don't like songs being interrupted by phone calls or texts or etc. I like the feature but I don't get the fervor it causes when discussed, that's all.

Kinda never been a big deal to me either I mean nice of them to make it a standard but ppl already complain about the batt life in these phones listening to music all day won't make it better. Beside I got and itouch that's what's that for. I can just picture me doing power clef's with my touch pro3 while jamming to likin park or dmx...trust me I rather break an ipod than and phone :twisted: but be that as it may this news stills :headbang:

not a big deal for me either. i do like the fact that i got a 3.5 jack adapter that i used when i first got the phone but now i rarely use it.

I just went to stereo bluetooth. I don't want a snaggy cord connecting me to a $500 phone. When I am working in the garage, I just keep the phone on the shelf and I whistle away.

I love best buy's insurance.
It's the best anywhere.

I use to use it ALL the time back when cd players were around.
Little did they know that I use to use mine to bowl at lunch when me and my friends were bored,
or as a frisbee. haha.
I'd just make sure it was broken enough that it was worth the $ for the insurance. hahaha.









The only reason why htc is making them standard is because it's a mandatory standard for all wm7 devices.

This was inevitable considering MS is mandating it for WM7. I don't think HTC cares about us, just their relationship with MS.

I say the skip the 3.5 plug and just give you some comfy ear buds to use. I can live with having an adapter if only the stock ear buds would actually fit in my ears... :(

I was under the impression that even the stereo bluetooth sets couldnt deliver the sound quality that wired headphones do. Is this true? I like to carry one device that does everything, and I prefer using my phone so the calls do interupt the music, keeps me from missing calls. I have an ipod touch too, but I let my 7 year old carry that around

Because of a little thing called bluejacking that I've researched.
And have performed a few times to see if it actually worked.
And not talking the programs that allow you to just spam texts/etc to phones with bluetooth,
I'm talking actually learning to hack in to the phone and have FULL control.
Not really that hard.
I won't tell anyone how to do it though
as I learned from a few hours of google searches
and a hour or two of "in the field" exercises. haha.

Im with cody on this one....I like bluetooth, but with researching and learning...well...I just dont wanna rely on BT...I prefer to have a 3.5 jack like Darren...personally I would like to be able to plug right into my car stereo aux jack without having to find that darn little adapter that I misplaced 50 times already....damn...now I wanna know where it is again......AAAAAHHHHHRHRRRHRHRHRHH THE OBSESSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, as I never got a single adapter, mine broke after keeping my phone in my pocket using it as a MP3 player. I loved that feature about my old 6700 but, hate my 6800 for that one thing....

Bluejacking/bluesnarfing both require your phone to be in "discoverable" mode... don't want your info stolen? turn that mode off, and you can still use your BT equipment without problem

i never really jumped aboard the bluetooth train myself. main reason probably being that i havent yet found a headset that sat comfortably on my ear. maybe i have weird shaped ears but i have tried probably upwards of 25 headsets and all sat very awkwardly. only time i really have a use for it is easy file sharing between my comp and phone.

that bluejacking thing you guys mentioned sounds kinda crazy i will have to do some research on that

WRONG!
You can actually trick the bluetooth device to make it think it lost the connection, using your phone, and then it will try to reconnect, send the key needed, and you pick that up, and bam, you have control.
Whether or not it is in discoverable.

For all those saying bluetooth stereo, i only use this for my car. As for everyday use bluetooth stereo sucks compared to my Bose 3.5mm headsets. if you actually use your phone for music often then you would definitely find this thread of value and it should bring a smile to your face.

get a Jabra BT3030 and you can use your favorite 3.5mm headphones as you earpiece.

I got one and I have never once hooked up a 3.5mm using an adapter since. Even when hooking up to the stereo in my house. I just plug the BT device in to the 3.5 jack and I still walk around the floor with the phone in my pocket which lets me remote control the music with no extra hardware.

1. Within the next few years, all cars will have A2DP capable stereos. Many cars already do.

2. I cannot tell the difference when I play my music through the adapter or the BT device. My BT device uses the same headset and they sound the same.

3. You can't compare a bluetooth headset to your bose, they are seperate devices with different drivers. With my set up, I use the same headset wired or through BT, and the sound is the same.

4. The number 1 use of my phone is my Rhapsody To-Go subscription.

Wired earphones should be put to death.

MobileSyrup is showing (via video hands-on) that the CDMA/GSM variant of the Touch Pro2 does in fact feature a 3.5mm jack.
