I really might would get this if it had a vga screen though.

Damn, i didnt even notice the resolution. that is pretty upsetting.

I hear ya on the performance concerns. The review I posted from techradar complained about performance on the hero. Not sure how concerned I should be though since they had a pre release version and all the videos I've seen show the device performing quite well.

Re: HTC Hero looks great!

yet another review, they claim this is a final version. considering the performance issues the experienced I hope that's not the case or at the very least things can get patched up before a US release.

omnia 2 is WVGA as well (800X600)

Based on these specs, gotta get a tp2 over a hero, theres nothing better about the hero, especially if sprint is going to incorporate the 3.5mm on the tp2

Wow, this is very upsetting.... I have only read down to about the camera, but so far its not good...

The Hero is flawed, though, in ways that are truly depressing in light of its potential and how much it does get truly right: It's often sluggish, which absolutely destroys the user experience. It's a particularly unfortunate affliction as the iPhone 3GS and Palm Pre emphasize speed, making the Hero feel that much slower.

Seems to be mixed reviews out there. One thing the androidcommunity.com forum goers are noticing is that the reviewers complaining about the major slow down issues were using the graphite model. Apparently the slashgear folks didn't notice this with the white model. They also mentioned that HTC had released a firmware update right as they started their review. So perhaps that cleared some things up. Time will tell I suppose...
