Android is an awesome mobile OS and it finally looks like the ball is rolling for it. The best thing about this device (and up to this point the only drawback to android) is its Exchange support. Meaning you can finally use android for corporate email without annoying 3rd party workarounds. If this does indeed hit sprint it will be my next phone, goodbye Diamond, goodbye windows mobile.
I knew T Mobile had those. I meant they would beat Sprint but this looks like good news.

According to phonenews.com and phonearena.com sprint is already testing the Htc Hero on its network... They are looking twoard a late 09 release date. will you:

Buy a Touch Pro 2 and keep it?
Buy a Hero when it comes out?
Buy a TP2 and then buy a hero when it comes out?

Re: Sprint testing HERO on network

i will probably test a TP2 when released for advocate, and then def. get a Hero just because it would be the newest thing but i would end up giving the TP2 back to Sprint and use the Hero.

Re: Sprint testing HERO on network

This is a tough call. I love the UI and there is an Android version of PDANet! The other applications I need are OliveTree Biblereader, Mobipockect , and Live365 Mobile. I also need direct push with MS Exchange (EAS?); and a feature rich PIM application that will sync with Exchange correctly (repeating tasks with alarms, categories for contacts, tasks and appointments, and etc).
If the Hero has the PIM applications I need, and can sync with MS Exchange, then I will buy the phone, hoping that the applications will developed later.

Re: Sprint testing HERO on network

as you can see I voted that I will be buying a touch pro and then a hero when it is released later...

This is true unless... someone creates a rom for the tp 2 with the hero interface (only because im not a big fan of not having a physical keyboard)

Re: Sprint testing HERO on network

Android doesn't do it for me yet.

Plus...I don't know if I can give up that physical Qwerty. I'd have to really like the on-screen keyboard on the Hero.
