I'd personally rather have a device that's slimmer and lighter with a descent onscreen keyboard. I know where you're coming from though. Once you have a nice hardware kb it's hard to go on screen. I have to use vibration feedback with my diamond, otherwise I have a rough time.

I'm not too worried about the Hero's kb. Since it has vibration feedback and predictive text with auto correction.

Re: HTC Hero looks great!

Here's another review, though I would call it more of a preview than anything:

...interesting that they note hand writing recognition. Don't see how that'd work with a capacitive screen.

Just as i suspected, it's also multi touch capable.

The TFT screen supports multi touch input, which will be a real boon for gaming, and as well as using the on screen QWERTY keyboard there is also support for handwriting recognition.

Re: HTC Hero looks great!

Looks like the Hero will indeed support hand writing recognition but without a stylus:

Re: HTC Hero looks great!

Windows Mobile is showing its age.

I would Microsoft would build a new Phone OS from the ground up and keep it simple and scalable. News of Pink and its ridiculous reqs do not make me happy.
