Can we run Verizon phones (assuming this goes Verizon) on Sprint? I know it can work the other way around.

I've googled and came up with "no" from links 2 or 3 years old, but I swore I read something recently about that being changed.

I have read a few times, that there was a law, or bill or something pa$$ed(stupid swear filter) making it so that you can activate any phone on any carrier, but i dont believe it.

As far as i know Sprint has only ever activated sprint phones... Hence good esn, bad esn.

Re: Samsung Omnia 2 or HD

Sprint will only activate phones with an ESN # that resides in their database.

Thanks guys! And 8notime, thanks for refreshing my memory, I do remember reading that Sprint will only activate what's in their database. Dang.

I wonder do they carry ESN's of their competitor's? LOL I know, wishful thinking, lol

Re: Samsung Omnia 2 or HD

The fact that Omnia is not an HTC phone is a huge plus in my book. I am very hesitant to buy TP2 as I had numerous problems with my TP.

Re: Samsung Omnia 2 or HD

I'm really wanting to like the Omnia II, but I'm worried about the lack of keyboard, stylus and developer/hacking community support. I actually like TF3D and would miss that also. I'll definitely be checking it out though.

Re: Samsung Omnia 2 or HD

Personally I don't use the stylus much on my Diamond, in those tight spots (mostly system menus and whatnot) I use my fingernail. With a 3.7" screen I imagine I'd never use the stylus at all. Touchpal takes care of the need for a hardware keyboard (it'd be nice to have one but I prefer a slimmer phone). I also don't use TF3D anymore so it doesn't matter to me. I've been drooling for the HD since it came out and this phone is just on another level. Too bad it's coming to big red. I can't give up my sprint data plan and the TP2 just looks lackluster at this point.

Re: Samsung Omnia 2 or HD

unwiredview.com/2009/07/01/samsung-omnia-ii-coming-in-september-with-windows-mobile-6-5/

Looks like a Sept. release instead.

amsung Omnia II coming in September with Windows Mobile 6.5?
As far as we know, Samsung Omnia II i8000 should be launched with Windows Mobile 6.1, with the possibility of being upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5 afterwards.
However, it looks like A1 (aka mobilkom), Austria’s largest mobile operator, will release the Omnia II with WM 6.5 from the beginning – sometime in September.
We know this from Microsoft Austria, which issued a short press release today, announcing the smartphone’s upcoming availability.
It’s not clear yet if the Omnia II will reach other European countries with WM 6.5 too, or if it won’t be released earlier in some markets. Sure, there’s that rumor saying that a white Omnia II might be launched by Verizon in the US this month, but until something official about this comes up, we can’t put too much trust in it.
